Our lineup starts with Kimi Antonelli in the Captain spot, and honestly, this one feels pretty straightforward.

He’s on pole. He’s coming off his first career win in China. And more importantly, he’s driving the fastest car over a full race stint. If things play out the way they’re supposed to, Antonelli is going to spend a good chunk of this race out front, stacking laps led and putting himself in position to grab fastest lap as well.

At 1.5x scoring, that’s the kind of ceiling you build around. And once you go there, you kind of have to commit to it.

That means pairing him with Mercedes as the constructor.

You can almost talk yourself into fading good pieces in DFS. You can get cute and you can try to be different.

This is not one of those spots.

If Mercedes controls this race the way it looks like they can, they’re going to lead the majority of laps, grab the fastest lap bonus, and very realistically put both cars on the podium. That’s how you win this top-heavy contest. Not by getting weird…but by getting it right.

F1 DFS Picks: Position Differential Targets

Once you lock in Antonelli and Mercedes, the rest of the lineup kind of builds itself.

We’re not paying up for mid-tier safety. We’re diving into the back half of the grid and hoping to find drivers who can simply move forward.

That’s where Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon come in.

Alonso rolls off 21st, which is about as clean of a place-differential setup as you’re going to get. He doesn’t need to do anything heroic. Just survive, move up a handful of spots, and ideally beat his teammate along the way.

Same idea with Albon starting 17th. There’s a path to points just by being competent and staying out of trouble, and if he picks up a teammate win bonus on top of that, even better.

From there, you round things out with Franco Colapinto and Liam Lawson, who both live in that same range.

They’re not here to win the race. They’re here to quietly gain positions, avoid disaster, and give you just enough to support the heavy hitters at the top. Lawson, in particular, has a real shot to beat his teammate, which gives you a little extra upside beyond just place differential.
