They were far from masterpiece performances, but the Orlando Magic got their split, and the Detroit Pistons finally broke, through, ending a 14-game playoff losing streak.

With the scene shifting to Orlando, the NBA odds favor the East’s top seed to regain control of this series.

Pistons vs Magic Prop Bet #1: Cade Cunningham Points

Pick 1: Cunningham OVER 27.5 points (-110 at BetMGM)

There’s a reason the Pistons, despite earning the top seed in the East are only sixth in the NBA Championship odds. Their weakness is real: the only true offensive threat for them is Cade Cunningham.

Round 1 has brought that formula to the surface, as Detroit lives and dies by Cunningham, and whatever other contributions he can squeeze out of his team.

And he’s been great, averaging 33 points on 52.2% shooting for the series, adding 7.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds. His teammates, especially the starters? Not so much.

Detroit Starters Scoring In Series (Not Including Cunningham)

No other starter (or bench player, for that matter) has even come close to 20 points, leaving Cade to do much of the heavy lifting. This should probably work through this series, but it’s going to get real tough after.

For now, Cade is the sure bet to again be the man for the Pistons.

DET Pistons vs ORL Magic Prop Bet #2: Paolo Banchero Points

Pick 2: Paolo Banchero Over 20.5 points (-110 at BetMGM)

He hasn’t had the best series, but the books are treating Paolo Banchero like he fell off the face of the earth offensively. He scored 23 points on 8-for-15 shooting in a Game 1 win, and followed that up with 18 points on 7-for-17 shooting and four turnovers in the Game 2 loss.

Now, his odds are set at 20.5 points — for a guy who averaged 22.2 points during the regular season.

Banchero has also been pretty good against the Pistons in his own barn: he’s scored at least 24 points in his last five home games against the Pistons.
