Game 3 of the Pistons vs Cavaliers series goes down this afternoon in Cleveland, with Detroit entering play with a 2-0 lead. Online sportsbooks expect the Cavs to bounce back, pegging them as favorites in the NBA odds.

Cleveland is heavily fuelled by Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, with Mitchell proving to be an absolute unit getting up and down the court. Meanwhile, the Pistons have relied on Cade Cunningham and Tobias Harris to fill up the stat sheet, with Cunningham carrying the offensive mail.

As good as those four players have been through two games, they’re not showing up as values for me in the player prop market. That’s not to say there aren’t plenty of good bets to target, and I’m looking at Duncan Robinson and Evan Mobley to headline my favorite player props and picks for Pistons/Cavaliers Game 3.

With no major injuries to navigate in the NBA starting lineups, I’m expecting usage and volume rates to project similarly to Games 1 and 2. That’s good news for Robinson, who has seen more than enough looks to cash over 2.5 threes for me today. Mobley meanwhile, is typically a beast on the glass, but in a tough rebounding matchup with a NBA Championship odds contender, I project him to fall short of 8.5 boards.

Robinson has stepped up as Detroit’s premier floor-spacer. Oddsmakers hung his made threes line at 2.5, offering a +104 plus-money payout that I am running to the window to bet.

Robinson has been a pure sniper. Over his last five games, he is averaging an incredible 3.8 made threes on 8.4 attempts. Against this exact Cavaliers defense, he has been virtually unstoppable. Through the first two games of this series, he lit the lamp for 10 total three-pointers, averaging 5 makes per skirmish.

Cleveland is yielding 10.9 three-pointers per game this postseason. Robinson has easily cleared the 2.5 mark on average over his last five playoff games, boasting a dominant > 60% implied success rate. I love this spot, as does our NBA player prop analyzer.

Mobley on the other hand, is a rebounding stud, but this matchup is horrendous for front court players. The Pistons are an elite defensive rebounding unit that simply ends possessions. They have surrendered just 11.0 offensive boards and 33.6 defensive boards per game this postseason.

While Mobley averaged 8.9 rebounds in 33 regular-season home games, his playoff production has dipped. Over four home playoff games, he has consistently fallen short of this 8.5 line on average, grabbing just 7.8 boards per contest.

The trend worsens against Detroit. Through two games in this series, Mobley has secured just 10 total rebounds. Averaging 5 rebounds per game here represents an implied success rate well under 40% for him to eclipse this number.
