The CFL season is coming into focus, with Week 1 kicking off in early June between the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The game will feature two of the top-four choices in the CFL Most Outstanding Player Award Odds, with Davis Alexander being the man on Montreal and Bo Levi Mitchell looking for his third career MOP for Hamilton.
Given that the CFL is a quarterback driven league, the top-nine selections to win Most Outstanding Player are pivots. Brady Oliveira is the first non-QB on the board for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and he was the 2024 champ of the award. See below for the big games who could snag the MOP for the 2026 campaign, along with my prediction.

Nathan Rourke is the top pick to win the CFL MOP in back-to-back seasons. Of note, Since 2008-09, there’s only been one player to win the award in back-to-back years (Zach Collaros in 2021 & 2022). The Bombers quarterback has the seventh shortest odds to win it for the third time. Davis Alexander and his perfect 11-0 regular season CFL record is the second choice and Chad Kelly, who won it in 2023, is right behind him.

CFL Most Outstanding Player Prediction
- Davis Alexander (+600 on theScore Bet)
Davis Alexander has been something of a cult hero in his brief time in the CFL, winning his first eleven regular season games and first two playoff affairs for a brilliant 13-0 mark. His season ended with disappointment, when he lost the Grey Cup to the Saskatchewan Roughriders 25-17. In that contest, Alexander was ordinary, with 284 passing yards and no TD’s, to go along with three interceptions.
However, Alexander has been outstanding otherwise, with 16 pass TD and just six picks in his CFL career, to go along with five rushing scores. Given that he’s on a solid roster that has been to two Grey Cups in three years (Montreal won the 2023 GC), I love his chances of taking the league by storm.
Nathan Rourke is the favorite to win, but historically, as mentioned earlier, repeat champs happen very rarely. He’s now focused entirely on the CFL after auditioning in NFL training camps the last few years, and had a strong output, but I love the value of double the odds on Alexander. Fortunately, the Als pivot avoided a serious knee injury in preseason action, and will be raring to go for the first battle of the season in Hamilton.
