- May 7 – After getting plus-money odds to open the season, the Padres (-210) are a likely candidate to nab a NL Wild Card at season’s end.
- April 10 – The Braves’ slow start to the season have seen their playoff odds already drop from -400 to -185, though they’re still getting the fourth-best odds in the National League.
- February 19 – The opening MLB Playoffs odds in the National League has four clear frontrunners (the Dodgers, Braves, Phillies, and Mets) before a mess of teams vying for the final two spots, ranging from the Cubs at -140 down to the Cardinals and Pirates at +360 each.

- September 26 – The collapse of the Detroit Tigers may have been preempted… only by the collapse of the Houston Astros, who at +295 are now on the outside looking in.
- July 17 – Just a few weeks removed from a push to top the AL East, the Rays are starting to fade. Their AL Playoff odds have dropped from -105 to +160 coming out of the break.
- May 7 – Big shakeup in the American League Playoff odds with the Tigers climbing as high as -500 to lead the way, while the Orioles plummet from +145 to +280.
- April 10 – The Texas Rangers have nearly climbed to the top of the AL Playoffs odds table, going from -130 to -240 in the two weeks since Opening Day.
- February 19 – Going into Spring Training, the New York Yankees are the only clear favorite to make the American League playoffs. In terms of probability, there’s just a 10.1% difference between the Texas Rangers with the fourth best odds at -125 and the Cleveland Guardians with the 10th best at +120.

Odds as of Sep. 20, 2021.
- Sep. 20: The Cardinals have improved from +900 at the start of September to -290, on average, today.
- Sep. 13: The Braves shortened to -650, while the Phillies (+450) and Mets (+550) cling to slim hopes in the NL East.
- Aug. 31: The Giants and Brewers have been taken off the board with their playoff berths all but certain. The Mets faded to a devastating +900 as the second-half collapse rolls on.
- Aug. 22: Atlanta (-425) has built a five-game stranglehold in the NL East. The Phillies (+425) and Mets (+700) have become big longshots, also sitting five games out of a Wild Card spot.
- Aug. 16: The Padres faded from -400 to -215. Their lead in the race for the NL’s second Wild Card is down to 2.5 games over the Reds (+225) and 4.5 over the Cardinals (+1000). They are 10 back of the Giants in the NL West, so the division is out of reach.
- Aug. 12: The Braves have improved from +310 to +165 over the past eight days and they are now tied for the NL East lead with the Phillies (+160). The Mets (+165) are one game back.
- Aug. 10: The Mets’ make/miss odds are now at +180/-220, almost the inverse of where they were a week ago. They’ve lost four straight and eight of ten.
- Aug. 8: The race in the NL East is scalding hot. The Phillies (+135) have a 1.5-game lead on the Mets (+135) and two games on the Braves (+225).
- May 25: The Giants were -2000 to miss at the start of the season but are now just -230 thanks to a 28-19 start.
- Feb. 22: No huge surprises in the opening odds. LAD is a -1400 favorite, followed by division-rival SD (-595) and three-time defending NL East champion ATL (-268).

- Aug. 16: The Yankees are still 2.5 games behind both Boston and Oakland in the Wild Card race, but remain -140 favorites to make the postseason.
- Aug. 12: The Jays (+100) are pushing hard and that’s making the Yankees (-115) fade along with the Red Sox (-220).

- Aug. 8: The Yankees are still -170 favorites to get in despite trailing Oakland by 1.5 games for the second AL Wild Card and sitting 5.5 back of Tampa in the AL East.
- May 25: The Twins’ odds to make the postseason have faded from -157 to +980 due to a horrid 18-29 record at roughly the quarter-mark of the season.
