The US Open women’s singles Round of 128 offers a broad betting card on the first Monday of tennis’ final Grand Slam of the year.

The opening round features a familiar mix of heavy favorites, sizeable game spreads and competitive matchups where a modest moneyline price may offer the best value.

Rather than chasing the biggest favorites on the moneyline, I am focusing on spreads and one playable underdog-market favorite. Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova headline the card, while Diane Parry offers a more manageable price against Viktorija Golubic. As always, compare prices before placing a wager because lines can move before first serve.

All matchups will be played at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York. You can catch the action on ESPN in the United States, while Canadians can tune in on TSN.

Round of 128 Predictions and Picks

  • Pick #1: Sabalenka -6.5 Games (+108 at Polymarket)

Entering the tournament as the world No. 1 and a commanding favorite, Aryna Sabalenka has the power profile to separate quickly in an opening-round matchup.

The 52-week Tennis Ratio numbers show why Sabalenka can turn that quality gap into a spread-covering win. She averages more aces per game than Osorio, 0.48 to 0.17, while committing fewer double faults, 0.22 to 0.52. Sabalenka wins 81.0% of her service games against 65.0% for Osorio, saves 63.4% of break points versus 56.9%, and wins 70.4% of first-serve points compared with 63.4%.

Sabalenka’s first-strike power should allow her to dictate from the opening ball. Sabalenka has won 63.2% of her tiebreaks compared with 33.3% for Osorio and has also won both of their listed previous meetings in straight sets, including a 6-4, 6-2 result in Madrid and a 6-0, 6-3 result at Wimbledon. With Sabalenka also winning 64.8% of pressure points on serve against Osorio’s 55.3%, the favorite has several ways to create separation. If she converts her chances efficiently, a straight-sets win with multiple breaks is the most likely path to covering the 6.5-game spread.

  • Pick #2: Anisimova -4.5 Games (-150 at bet365)

The -602 moneyline is too expensive for a straight bet, but the 4.5-game spread provides a more practical way to back Amanda Anisimova against Ashlyn Krueger. Anisimova’s ball-striking and timing make her especially dangerous on a fast hardcourt, where she can take control of points early. T

Anisimova’s recent hard-court results support the matchup case: she recorded straight-set wins over Sonmez, Eala and Noskova in Cincinnati before falling to Jessica Pegula, while Krueger most recently lost to Louisa Boisson and earlier exited against Grabher. Anisimova also beat Krueger in their listed hard-court meeting. Her pressure numbers are modestly superior as well, with 61.1% of service pressure points won against Krueger’s 60.8% and 46.3% of return pressure points against 43.4%. Anisimova’s ability to step inside the baseline and attack the ball should limit Krueger’s time to construct points. If she maintains that pressure, she has the necessary edge to win comfortably and cover the spread.

  • Pick #3: Parry Moneyline (53¢ at Kalshi)

Diane Parry to Win
53%

Diane Parry is the preferred side at a manageable moneyline price against Viktorija Golubic, although the matchup deserves more respect than the odds may suggest. The recent head-to-head results are a warning: Golubic won their 2022 meeting in straight sets and also beat Parry in straight sets on grass in 2025. That history makes the moneyline more attractive than laying a larger spread, but it also leaves little room for a slow start from Parry.

The case for Parry begins with the quality of her service games. Over the past 52 weeks, she has won 70.2% of her service games compared with 63.6% for Golubic, while winning 68.2% of first-serve points versus 59.2% for Golubic. Although Golubic lands more first serves (70.8% to 58.2%), Parry has been much more effective when she does make that first serve count.

Parry nevertheless has the more appealing pressure profile for a close moneyline wager. If Parry can protect her serve and force enough neutral rallies from the middle of the court, those late-set and high-leverage advantages can outweigh Golubic’s stronger return profile. At this price, Parry is the side to back, with the expectation of a tight match that she can edge.
