Their playoff chances on life support, the Pittsburgh Pirates welcome in the Milwaukee Brewers, trying to stay alive in the NL Wild Card chase.
My focus is on the MLB player props market, focusing on individual performance metrics that provide the most distinct betting value.
The Brewers boast the best record in baseball, fueled by standout offensive campaigns from elite hitters like Jackson Chourio and William Contreras.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are hovering right at the .500 mark and look to play spoiler as they defend their home turf. Let’s dive into my top betting angles and predictions for this National League clash.
Action gets underway at 6:40pm ET from PNC Park in Pittsburgh, with MLB TV providing the broadcast coverage.
Brewers vs Pirates Prop Picks
Finding the best value on the diamond requires digging into recent performance, head-to-head history, and key splits. Here are my three carefully selected player prop picks for tonight’s clash.
Pick 1: Bryan Reynolds Over 0.5 Hits (-137 at Kalshi)
Reynolds squares off against Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski tonight. In a small sample of six career at-bats against the righty, Reynolds has logged two hits and a walk, yielding a .333 batting average and .500 on-base percentage. Reynolds is currently hitting .252 against right-handers and an impressive .291 against lefties.
Reynolds has elevated his production recently, batting .293 with a sturdy .466 slugging percentage over his last 15 games encompassing 58 at-bats. He is also averaging 1.100 hits per game over his last 10 outings.
This marks a solid bump over his 2026 season baselines of a .266 average and .429 slugging percentage alongside a 91.1 mph average exit velocity. The combination of his recent hot streak and past success against Misiorowski is my single strongest reason for this play. The clearest risk remains Misiorowski’s stifling .156 season opponent batting average.
Pick 2: William Contreras Over 1.5 Total Bases (+150 at Kalshi)
Contreras faces Pittsburgh’s probable pitcher Lake Bachar tonight. In a very small career sample of just two at-bats against Bachar, Contreras boasts one hit – a home run – and a walk, yielding a .500 batting average and a massive 2.000 slugging percentage.
Bachar has maintained a low 2.613 ERA over 20.2 innings this season, but his hefty 1.74 HR/9 rate indicates vulnerability to the long ball.
Contreras enters tonight swinging a hot bat, averaging 1.200 hits and .400 home runs per game over his last 10 contests. His recent .643 slugging percentage over that span is a massive spike compared to his .420 season baseline. For the year, he owns a solid .273 batting average, an impressive 90.4 mph exit velocity, and 17 home runs. His elite recent power metrics provide the strongest reason to back the over on his total bases. The most obvious risk is Bachar’s season-long ability to suppress hits, holding opponents to a .157 average.
Pick 3: Jackson Chourio Over 1.5 Total Bases (+113 at Kalshi)
Chourio also draws a matchup against Bachar. The young slugger is hitless in a tiny sample of just one career at-bat against the righty, so history offers little definitive edge here.
Chourio has raked throughout the 2026 campaign, recording a .283 batting average against righties and a .314 mark against lefties. Bachar’s peripheral stats feature a sturdy 1.113 WHIP, but he does allow 5.23 walks per nine innings, which could limit chances to hit.
Chourio’s recent form is undeniable. He is hitting .358 with a .612 slugging percentage and four home runs across his last 15 games encompassing 67 at-bats. This surge pushes well past his already stellar season baselines of a .292 batting average, .493 slugging percentage, and 91.7 mph average exit velocity.
His blistering recent form and season-long power numbers stand as my primary reason to back the over for this prop. The clearest risk is simply his lack of track record against Bachar and the pitcher’s low .157 opponent batting average.
