Heading into Week 7 on the college football calendar, I have been digging through the numbers to find the spots where a player’s workload and his matchup point the same direction.

College football player props are where that work pays off. Reception totals and carry counts help put individual production in context before the weekend lines arrive.

I am targeting three specific props this weekend. Keep reading for my early college football player props for Week 7, and the best bets to target.

Early College Football Player Props for Week 7

PlayerMatchupProp
Jeremiah SmithOSU vs INDOver 124.5 receiving yards
Jadan BaughFLA vs TEXUnder 80.5 rushing yards
Chris MarshallARK vs VANOver 69.5 receiving yards

Two of these props are conditional targets I have estimated from current seasonal workloads and matchup data, not posted sportsbook lines. Compare posted lines through the best college football betting apps when all prices are available.

CFB Prop Pick #1: Ohio State vs Indiana

  • Jeremiah Smith Over 124.5 receiving yards (-115 at bet365)

The Ohio State vs Indiana player props board starts and ends with Jeremiah Smith. The Heisman Trophy odds favorite has 48 catches for 916 yards through six games, which works out to 152.7 receiving yards per game.

The recent run is where the volume case gets made. Smith went for 217 and 206 yards in back to back outings before a 93-yard game, so even his quietest afternoon of that stretch landed nearly 100 yards.

I want to be straight about the matchup, though. Indiana allows 188.5 passing yards per game, which is not a soft number, so I am not treating this as an easy matchup. The case here rests on his share of the Ohio State passing game rather than on Indiana being easy to throw on.

That is a bet I am comfortable making. When a receiver is clearing 150 per game, a target in the 124.5 range gives you more than 25 yards of cushion against a down week. New users can sign up with the bet365 promo code for a bonus to use on this game.

CFB Prop Pick #2: Florida vs Texas

  • Jadan Baugh Under 80.5 rushing yards (conditional target)

The Florida vs Texas player props require fading a productive back, which is never comfortable. Jadan Baugh has 110 carries for 672 yards over six games, an average of 112 per game that sits well clear of this target.

The week to week record is what interests me. Baugh put up 142 yards against Ole Miss but managed just 13 against Missouri and 59 against South Carolina, so two of his last three games finished comfortably under this number.

Texas is the kind of front that produces those quieter afternoons. The Longhorns are yielding 96.4 rushing yards per game to opposing offenses, and Baugh is heading to Austin rather than getting them at home.

Stack the volatility against that run defense and the Under is the side I want. This is the pick on my card with the widest range of outcomes, and I am sizing it accordingly.

CFB Prop Pick #3: Arkansas vs Vanderbilt

  • Chris Marshall Over 69.5 receiving yards (conditional target)

The Arkansas vs Vanderbilt player props give me a clear number one receiver to back. Chris Marshall has 42 catches for 605 yards across six games, averaging 100.8 receiving yards per contest.

His last three results show both the ceiling and the floor. Marshall posted 195 yards against Tulsa, then 76 against Texas A&M and 56 against Tennessee, which means one of those three would have missed this target.

Vanderbilt is surrendering 214 passing yards per game. Marshall needs less than a third of that allowance to clear this target, and his reception volume gives him a plausible route there.

Seven catches at his season average gets him there. Against this secondary, with his volume, that is the most straightforward of my three Week 7 CFB prop picks.
