Buffalo QB Josh Allen remains the favorite in the latest NFL MVP odds, while the Week 5 board features several notable shifts. Comparing the current prices with the post-Week 4 odds, Allen shortened modestly from +270 to +250. San Francisco pivot Brock Purdy also shortened, while Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence drifted from +650 to +800 despite his Jaguars extending their win streak to three.

The clearest improvement in price among the leading names belongs to New England’s Drake Maye, who moved from +4000 after Week 4 to +1600. Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow also shortened substantially, from +1600 to +1100. On the other side, Philadelphia’s Jalen Hurts, Denver’s Bo Nix, and Las Vegas’ Kirk Cousins all saw their odds fade significantly.

Biggest NFL MVP Risers

Drake Maye, New England Patriots: +4000 to +1600

Maye’s price shortened by the most among the top group shown here. The current +1600 puts him in the leading cluster behind Allen, Purdy, Mahomes and Lawrence.

Maye’s case rests on efficiency and legs. He is averaging 8.13 yards per attempt, completing 65.6% of his throws for 1,228 yards, and he leads this group’s quarterbacks in rushing with 161 yards on 30 carries. The warning sign is the seven interceptions, the most of any quarterback on this list, against eight touchdown passes.

New England is 3-2, and his 11 sacks taken are among the higher totals here. The market is paying for the dual-threat profile despite the turnovers.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals: +1600 to +1100

Burrow also moved materially toward the front of the board. His current price is shorter than Lawrence’s and matches Lamar Jackson’s, placing him among the next group behind the four shortest prices.

Burrow is completing 71.4% of his passes, the best rate of any quarterback on this list, for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns against three interceptions. At 7.20 yards per attempt on 189 throws, this is a high-volume, high-accuracy profile rather than a big-play one. Cincinnati is 3-2 with the eighth-ranked scoring offense (128 points), and its defense has 17 sacks, tied for third in the NFL, which supports a team-success argument.

Jared Goff, Detroit Lions: +5500 to +3500

Goff is now closer to the main group of contenders after a huge Week 5 game against Arizona. He is now priced ahead of Gibbs, whose odds moved in the opposite direction.

Goff has not thrown an interception in 191 attempts. He has 12 touchdowns, 1,485 yards, and a 67.0% completion rate, and the Lions’ 164 points are tied for the most in the NFL.

The caveat is the team around him: Detroit is 3-2 and has allowed 148 points, 29th in the league, so the Lions play shootouts. Goff has also been sacked 11 times. Teammate Gibbs, whose odds moved the other way, has 747 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns.

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills: +270 to +250

Allen faded after his Bills were upset by New England in Week 4 but last night’s insane 37-34 OT win as road underdogs at the Rams has boosted him back up.

Allen’s 9.05 yards per attempt (1,249 yards on 138 attempts) is second among these quarterbacks behind only Lamar Jackson. He has just seven touchdown passes and four interceptions, but he has added 239 rushing yards on 43 carries and eight rushing touchdowns, for 15 total touchdowns. Buffalo is 4-1 and tied for the NFL lead in scoring (164 points), though the defense has allowed 141, 28th, which is why Allen has to carry the team. His price barely moved because his case was already priced.

Others

Stafford moved from +3000 to +2500, while Bijan Robinson improved from +6000 to +5000. Bryce Young, Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels and Will Anderson were unchanged between the snapshots.

Biggest NFL MVP Fallers

Kirk Cousins, Las Vegas Raiders: +10000 to +35000

Cousins had the largest drift among the shared names in the comparison. His current price is now well outside the leading group.

He was replaced by #1 pick Fernando Mendoza late in the Raiders’ Week 5 blowout loss to New England and it’s unclear how many more starts he’ll get in a Las Vegas jersey.

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles: +5000 to +10000

Hurts’ price doubled, indicating a substantially longer quote on the Week 5 board.

Hurts has the weakest passing numbers of the quarterbacks here: a 57.8% completion rate, 933 yards and only 6.06 yards per attempt on 154 throws. He has eight touchdown passes and three interceptions, was sacked 13 times, and added 107 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Eagles are 2-3 and have scored 92 points, 29th in the NFL. Tyler Shough’s 6.34 yards per attempt and 13 sacks taken match New Orleans’ 1-4 record, and the Saints have allowed 151 points, 31st in the league.

Bo Nix, Denver Broncos: +6000 to +12500

Nix’s odds more than doubled, moving him farther down the current list.

Nix has the lowest yards per attempt in this group at 5.81, on a 59.9% completion rate with 942 yards on 162 attempts. He has six touchdowns and three interceptions. Denver is 3-2 but 26th in scoring (97 points), so the record has outrun the offense.

Others

Trevor Lawrence moved from +650 to +800, while Lamar Jackson went from +800 to +1100. Jahmyr Gibbs lengthened from +3000 to +4500; Kenneth Walker III moved from +5000 to +6500; and Jaxon Smith-Njigba moved from +5500 to +8000. Caleb Williams, Derrick Henry, Jordan Love, Kyler Murray and Jonathan Taylor also have longer Week 5 prices than in the post-Week 4 snapshot.
