Biggest NFL DPOY Risers

Will Anderson Jr (HOU, EDGE)

Anderson now dominates the DPOY market after rising from 27¢ to 46¢ from Week 4 to Week 5. The next-highest post-Week 5 price is Dallas Turner’s 10¢.

Anderson leads the NFL in both sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (10). He is also tied for second in QB hits (14). That works out to 1.5 sacks per game, a 17-game pace of about 25. He has also forced a fumble. No other defender in this group tops the league in two of the three pass-rush categories.

Gregory Rousseau (BUF, EDGE)

Rousseau’s price has increased from 6¢ to 8¢. He leads the league in QB hits (17) and is second in both sacks (6) and TFL (8) and has forced three fumbles. By pure pass-rush disruption, he is nearly level with Anderson. His sack total is only 1.5 behind, and he has three more QB hits.

Trent McDuffie (LAR, CB)

McDuffie moved from 3¢ to 4¢. McDuffie is the only non-front-seven player here without a gaudy counting-stat case. He has 16 tackles, 2 TFL and 1 INT, with no sacks or QB hits. His case rests on coverage, which these box-score numbers don’t capture

Biggest NFL DPOY Fallers

TJ Watt (EDGE, PIT)

Watt dropped from 12¢ after Week 4 to 6¢ after Week 5, one of the sharpest declines among the candidates with comparable prices.

Watt has 4.5 sacks (6th in the NFL) and 6 TFL (3rd), plus a forced fumble and an INT. His QB-hit total (7) ranks only 16th, so his sacks are coming off fewer pressures than Anderson’s or Rousseau’s.

Dallas Turner (EDGE, MIN)

Turner eased from 13¢ to 10¢. Despite that decline, he remains the second-highest-priced candidate on the Week 5 board.

Turner has 5.5 sacks, third in the NFL, and 14 QB hits, tied with Anderson for second. He has also forced 2 fumbles. His 3 TFL are tied for 51st, so his production is almost entirely sacks and hits. That separates him from Anderson, whose stat line is much broader.

Maxx Crosby (EDGE, LV)

Crosby moved from 6¢ to 3¢. His Week 5 price places him in the next group behind the leading contenders.

Crosby is 4th in QB hits (13) but has only two sacks, 44th in the league, and 1 TFL. He is generating pressure at an elite rate but without finishing plays.

Fred Warner (LB, SF)

Warner stayed at 8¢ from Week 4 to Week 5 but with Anderson shortening dramatically, stagnation is effectively the same as a price drop.

Warner has a different profile from the edge rushers. He is third in the NFL with 50 tackles, averaging 10 per game. He has also forced three fumbles, tied with Rousseau for the most in this group. He has only 0.5 sacks and 1 TFL, so his case depends on volume and all-around impact.
