The Week 9 college football odds have moved since our opening lines went up Sunday. A few spreads have crossed key numbers, and the totals are moving in both directions.
Halloween Saturday runs from noon ET into the night, so I’ve laid out the biggest games in kickoff order. That makes it easy to see how each number has changed before the window you plan to bet.
Ohio State vs USC headlines the night slate, and the Buckeyes’ spread has already moved off a key number. Earlier in the day, the Wisconsin vs Iowa spread has crossed 3, which changes how a field-goal finish pays out for both sides.

Opening lines from DraftKings, as published in our Week 9 opening odds table. Current odds from BetMGM as of Thursday evening, October 29, 2026. Ohio State vs USC Odds: Buckeyes Dip Below 7
The marquee game of Week 9 kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET in Los Angeles. Ohio State opened as a 7-point road favorite and sits at -6.5 at BetMGM.
That half point matters. At -7, a seven-point Buckeyes win was a push, but at -6.5 it covers for Ohio State bettors. USC backers at +6.5 now lose on that same margin instead of getting their money back.
The total dipped a point to 51.5. You can follow the latest Ohio State vs USC odds through kickoff.
Week 9 College Football Spreads Crossing Key Numbers
Iowa Drops Below 3 vs Wisconsin
Iowa opened -3.5 against Wisconsin and is now -2.5, crossing the most important number in football. A three-point Hawkeyes win lost for Iowa bettors at the open and now covers.
Wisconsin bettors feel it the other way. At +3.5, a three-point loss covered, but at +2.5 that same result loses.
Miami Lands on 14 at North Carolina
Miami shortened 2.5 points, from -16.5 to -14 at North Carolina. A two-touchdown Hurricanes win lost at the open and now pushes, while a win by 17 or more covers either number.
BYU and Georgia Stretch Out
BYU climbed two points to -16.5 against Arizona State. A 15- or 16-point Cougars win covered the opener and now loses.
Georgia moved from -10.5 to -12 against Florida at a neutral site. An 11-point Bulldogs win no longer covers, and a 12-point win now pushes. Check the latest Florida vs Georgia spread before kickoff.
Smaller Moves Around the Board
Texas Tech slid a point to -3.5 against Arizona, so a four-point Red Raiders win now covers instead of losing. Notre Dame dipped a half point to -30 against Navy, which means a 30-point win now pushes.
Florida State moved to -6 against Clemson, and Texas went to -20 against Mississippi State. Both landed on whole numbers, so a six-point Seminoles win or a 20-point Longhorns win now pushes instead of covering.
Week 9 College Football Totals Movement
The biggest totals move is Notre Dame vs Navy, up four points from 52.5 to 56.5. No other Week 9 total in this group rose more than two.
Wisconsin vs Iowa fell three points to 36.5, the lowest total on the board. At a number that low, a single field goal can swing the over/under.
Arizona State vs BYU also dropped three, from 51.5 to 48.5. Miami vs North Carolina went the other way, up two to 52.5.
Ohio State vs USC, Arizona vs Texas Tech and Mississippi State vs Texas each slipped one point. Florida vs Georgia held at 56.5 and Clemson vs Florida State stayed at 50.5.
Week 9 College Football Odds by Kickoff Window
The noon ET window has the most totals movement, with Notre Dame vs Navy up four and Wisconsin vs Iowa down three. Iowa’s 2.5-point spread is also the tightest of the early games.
At 3:30 p.m. ET, both favorites are laying more than they did at the open. The night window brings Clemson vs Florida State at 7 p.m., then Ohio State vs USC, Miami vs North Carolina and Mississippi State vs Texas at 7:30.
Line movement shows where the price sits, not how the game plays out. With this many numbers sitting near 3, 7 and 14, comparing prices before you bet is worth the extra minute.
