- Three Friday games make up my NHL picks today, starting at 7:00 pm ET
- My card for November 6 has one road underdog and two favorites
- See my NHL best bets and predictions below, plus the Kalshi price for each pick
I like three spots on Friday’s slate. The first is the Blue Jackets visiting the Sabres at 7:00 PM ET. The Sharks at Wild and Ducks at Flames both start at 8:00 PM ET.
Columbus and Anaheim both play Thursday, so each road team is on a back-to-back. The prices below are Kalshi Yes buy quotes from Thursday evening, so check the latest NHL Odds before you bet.
Here are my NHL picks today, with the case for each.
NHL Picks Today
Kalshi Yes buy prices as of November 6 at 10:23 AM ET. A price in cents roughly matches the implied chance, so 40¢ means about a 40% implied probability.
NHL Pick Today #1: Blue Jackets Moneyline vs Sabres
- Pick: Blue Jackets moneyline
My first NHL pick today is Columbus as a road underdog in Buffalo. At 40¢, the Blue Jackets have about a 40% implied chance, and the Sabres sit at 61¢.
Buffalo hasn’t been the better defensive team. The Sabers allow 3.33 goals per game, while Columbus allows 3.15. Their 69.8% penalty kill also gives the Jackets an opening, even with Columbus’ modest 17.1% power play.
Columbus also has the faceoff battle dot, taking 55% of faceoffs to Buffalo’s 45.2%. That’s a big gap in starting possession.
The back-to-back after Dallas is Columbus’s scheduling concern. But Buffalo’s modest scoring edge, 2.93 goals per game to 2.69, isn’t enough for me to pass on the Jackets at 39¢.
NHL Prediction Today #2: Wild -1.5 vs Sharks
- Pick: Wild -1.5
My NHL prediction today for this game is a multi-goal Minnesota win over San Jose. Kalshi has that at 49¢, close to a coin flip. The straight Wild moneyline costs 71¢.
The Wild are 11-3-3. They score 3.29 goals per game and allow 2.24, the lowest goals-against mark of the six teams on this card. Those numbers put Minnesota in the Stanley Cup Odds discussion.
San Jose is 7-9-1. The Sharks score 2.53 goals per game and give up 3.53. That’s a minus-1.00 goal differential per game, compared with Minnesota’s plus-1.05.
The shot numbers line up too. Minnesota averages 30.2 shots per game, the same number San Jose allows, and holds opponents to 25.2. Special teams are close, with Minnesota’s 25.4% power play against an 81% Sharks penalty kill.
A one-goal Wild win loses this bet. I’ll take that risk at 48¢ rather than pay 71¢ for the moneyline.
NHL Pick Today #3: Flames Moneyline vs Ducks
- Pick: Flames moneyline
I’m wrapping up my NHL picks today with Calgary at home against Anaheim. The Flames are 57¢ on Kalshi, about a 57% implied chance. Trading on this market has been light, so the price could move.
The Ducks play in Edmonton on Thursday, so they arrive on a back-to-back. Anaheim scores 3.60 goals per game but allows 3.80, the mean on this card.
Special teams favor Calgary on one side of the puck. The Flames’ 29.7% power play face74.6% s a Ducks penalty 4.6%. Calgary also kills penalties at 84%.
Anaheim’s 38% power play is the biggest threat, so the Flames have to stay out of the box. At 55¢, I’ll back Calgary’s power play and the rest advantage against a Ducks defense allowing 3.80 goals per game.
