All three of my Friday anytime goalscorer picks come from forwards already sitting on double-digit goals. Each one also gets an opponent with a clear weakness on paper.
The Blue Jackets visit the Sabres at 7 pm ET. An hour later, the Sharks take on the Wild in Minnesota and the Ducks visit the Flames in Calgary.

Friday NHL Props & Anytime Goalscorer Picks
Anytime goal odds as of Nov. 5, 8:44 pm ET, via FanDuel.
Kaprizov is the only favorite of the group at -130, roughly a 56.5% implied chance. Thompson at +105 implies about 48.8%, while Gauthier at +135 works out to around 42.6%.
1. Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goalscorer Pick vs. Sharks
- Pick: Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal (-130 at FanDuel)
Anyone following the Rocket Richard Odds knows Kaprizov’s number: 15 goals and 26 points in 17 games.
He’s scored those on 54 shots, a 27.8% shooting percentage that will probably cool off at some point. Even so, he’s averaging more than three shots a night while logging 21:43 of ice time.
San Jose has allowed 60 goals in 17 games, or 3.53 per game, and gives up 30.2 shots per night. That’s the highest goals-against total of the three opponents on this card.
The Sharks kill penalties at 81%, so the power play isn’t a big edge here. Still, Kaprizov has four power-play goals, and at -130 you’re paying for a finisher against the leakiest defense of the bunch.
2. Tage Thompson NHL Prop Pick vs. Blue Jackets
- Pick: Tage Thompson anytime goal (+105 at FanDuel)
Thompson’s case starts with volume. He has 65 shots in 15 games, roughly 4.3 per night, the most of any player in this piece.
That’s produced 10 goals and 18 points on a 15.4% shooting percentage. It’s a more modest finishing rate than Kaprizov’s, but it comes on far more attempts.
Columbus has allowed 41 goals in 13 games (3.15 per game) and 27.2 shots per game. The bigger issue is a 72.5% penalty kill, the weakest of the three opponents here.
Thompson has two power-play goals and five power-play points. If Buffalo draws a few calls, he gets extra looks against that unit, and I’ll take that at plus money.
3. Cutter Gauthier Anytime Goal Pick at Flames
- Pick: Cutter Gauthier anytime goal (+135 at FanDuel)
Wrapping up my Friday anytime goalscorer picks, I’m taking the longest price of the three with Gauthier at +135.
The Ducks forward has 10 goals and 15 points in 14 games. He’s put 59 shots on net, about 4.2 per game, and converted 16.9% of them.
His power-play work is what jumps off the page. Eight of his 10 goals have come with the man advantage, and he has 10 power-play points.
Calgary is the toughest test shorthanded with an 84% penalty kill, so I’m not counting on the power play alone. The Flames have still allowed 55 goals in 16 games (3.44 per game) and 29.9 shots per night, which leaves room for Gauthier’s volume at even strength.
Anytime Goalscorer Stats for Friday’s NHL Props
Here’s how the three shooters compare, per NHL.com. Statistics reflect games completed before Thursday’s slate.
Kaprizov is the most efficient finisher, Thompson shoots the most and Gauthier leans hardest on the power play. Each profile fits a different matchup: Kaprizov against San Jose’s goals-against total, Thompson against the Columbus penalty kill and Gauthier’s shot volume against a Calgary team allowing nearly 30 shots a game.
