The 2017-18 college basketball season saw the Villanova Wildcats win their second NCAA Tournament Championship in a three-year span, stomping the Michigan Wolverines, 79-62, in the championship game.
But they were far from the only major story from the tournament, which included a 16-seed beating a 1-seed (UMBC over Virginia) for the first time ever, plus Sister Jean and the no. 11 Loyola Ramblers reaching the Final Four.
It wasn’t always smooth sailing for these noteworthy teams, though. Here’s how the odds to win the NCAA Tournament changed throughout the course of the 2017-18 season.
