NBA Sixth Man Odds Movement Timeline

  • March 5: At -119, Pritchard is still on top of the 6th Man Award odds table, but close behind is the Pistons’ Malik Beasley at +149.
  • November 25: Boston’s Payton Pritchard has moved from +9700 when the odds opened all the way to the +204 favorite a month into the season. Golden State’s Buddy Hield is second at +517.

Notes on the NBA 6th Man of the Year odds movement over the course of the 2023-24 season include:

  • Mar. 26: Sixth Man odds have fallen sharply for Hardaway Jr over the past two months. A favorite back in January, odds for the Mavs’ guard are now at an average of +10625.
  • Jan. 12: Hardaway Jr (+245) is favored over Bogdanovic (+430) and Monk (+440) with Clarkson (+800) and Reaves (+1000) rounding out the top-five midway through the regular season.
  • Oct 19: With the start of the 2023-24 NBA season less than a week, last year’s runner-up, Immanuel Quickley, opened at +700 as the early favorite to win this year’s Sixth Man of the Year award. Also in the mix are Derrick White (+800), Norman Powell (+1000), Bobby Portis (+1200), and Malik Monk (+1200).

  • April 10: At the conclusion of the regular season, Malcolm Brogdon is a slight -125 favorite over Immanuel Quickley (+109).
  • February 21: Brogdon has taken over as the odds-on favorite to in the 2023 Sixth Man of the Year odds, while former-favorite Westbrook faded to +767 after being traded to the Jazz, then waived, and signing with the Clippers.
  • January 24: Westbrook is now -181, but second-favorite Malcolm Brogdon has also improved to +224.
  • January 5: Westbrook (+130) has consolidated his lead over Pool (+356) over the past month.
  • December 12: Coming off the bench for a slowly-improving Lakers team, Westbrook has taken over as the 2023 Sixth Man betting favorite.
  • October 25: Herro’s odds took a huge hit (+625 to +4300) because he’s started the first four games of the season. Poole (+355) remains the favorite. Mavs forward Christian Wood (+370) is a close second-favorite.
  • August 28: Golden State’s Jordan Poole has opened as the +488 favorite, on average, followed by reigning 6MOY Tyler Herro of Miami.

  • [May 18] There has been huge late movement in the Sixth  Man of the year race. Joe Ingles odds have shortened all the way to an average of +140, while his Jazz teammate Jordan Clarkson has faded to odds of -189. Clarkson was once as short -1375 to win the award.
  • [May 11] Clarkson set the record for shots taken off the bench this season against Golden State on Monday night with 33, pouring in 41 points to further strengthen his grip on the award
  • [May 4] Jordan Clarkson is back to the heaviest of award favorites, now at average odds of -1375
  • [April 27] After the race getting as close as it’s been since the season began (which wasn’t close at all), Jordan Clarkson’s average odds have shortened to a heavy price of -775
