Ring City USA is promoting a great card here with the winner of this Serrano versus Bermudez main event potentially jettisoning themselves towards a high stakes title bout against 135-pound champion Katie Taylor.

Daniela Bermudez’s Resume

Daniela Bermudez has gone unbeaten across her last fourteen contests. She is a former three-division world champion and is a reputable fighter in her own right.

Still though, Bermudez has quite the task in front of her in the form of the seven division world titlist Serrano.

The last time Bermudez stepped into the ring, she scored a tenth-round TKO victory over Cintia Castillo to capture the vacant IBF super bantamweight world championship.

Every one of Bermudez’s fights since June 2017 has been a championship bout, and she is stepping up in weight category for the opportunity to become a four-division world titlist.

Amanda Serrano Pound for Pound Resume

Amanda Serrano is regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound ranked women’s boxers in the world today. Her lone loss transpired almost a decade ago, and she’s currently riding an exemplary 25 fight winning streak.

Serrano also had a pair of MMA fights and has gone unbeaten in her mixed martial arts efforts so far.

Amanda Serrano had a pair of “stay busy” fights in 2020 where she bested Simone Aparecida Da Silva and Dahiana Santana. She now readies herself to defend the pair of belts that she captured from Heather Hardy in a lopsided September 2019 bout.

Serrano has a 74 percent knockout rate overall and an eighty percent stoppage rate in the context of her aforementioned 25 fight winning streak.

Conversely, Bermudez has shown a level of durability having never been finished a single time across her three professional defeats.

This prizefight is scheduled for ten rounds but I do not see the judges’ scorecards playing a role in the outcome for this one.

Serrano has proven finishing ability and in higher weight categories no less. I think her aptitude for finishing heavier adversaries does not bode well for Bermudez, who is moving up in weight for this one.

I think there’s good value in pursuing prop bets for this fight not going the distance and for Serrano to win via TKO or KO.

Pick: Amanda Serrano (-2000)
