Kid Galahad’s Road to the Rematch

This rematch has been eight years in the making. Galahad stopped Dickens in the tenth round of their British super bantamweight title fight in 2013.

They’re now running it back at the world title level, it’s in a higher weight category, and these fighters have added a lot of additional tools to their proverbial toolboxes.

As much as there is a focus on individual accomplishment here, Galahad is also doing this for his late trainer Brendan Ingle.

The late-Irish trainer is a revered coach who led several world champions to glory. Galahad looks to include himself among that elite company with, names like Prince Naseem and Kell Brook being a couple of names from that lineage.

Galahad last got back to the win column after his failed world title bid to Josh Warrington via split decision. But he has been competitively inactive for the last eighteen months.

Jazza Dickens steps into the ring riding an eight-fight win streak on the heels of winning MTK’s Golden Contract tournament.

Jazza Dickens’ Endeavour to Even the Series

Since the initial fight, the two men have developed a solid friendship and they have also subsequently sparred dozens of rounds with one another.

The familiarity with each other’s skills is not isolated just to having fought once before. But it becomes even more compounded when considering that training relationship.

I foresee this being an incredibly calculated, kinetic chess match between two individuals who are acutely aware of the other’s pugilistic proclivities.

There’s a redemptive component in this fight for both as each man is making their sophomore bid for a world championship after each coming up short in their respective pursuit of world title glory.

These 126 pounders look to finally ascend to that level of international excellence after carving up the European top dogs.

I foresee this championship showdown going all twelve rounds. In the end, I think that Galahad will go 2-0 in his series with Dickens this weekend.  Ultimately, I think there are some prop bets that present real good value here.

I would go with prop bets on this contest going the distance (-165) and Galahad winning by decision/ technical decision (+125).

Pick: Kid Galahad (-330)
