  • Georgia vs. Ole Miss odds have the Bulldogs as a short road favorite in a pivotal SEC matchup.
  • Both teams are coming off big wins, but turnovers and quarterback play could decide this one.
  • Read below for my Georgia vs. Ole Miss prediction and best bet.

No. 2 Georgia visits No. 12 Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 7. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT).

Georgia is 7-1 overall and 5-1 in SEC play after a 27-8 win over Florida. Ole Miss is 6-2 and 4-2 in the conference after pulling away from Auburn for a 45-15 win.

The Georgia vs. Ole Miss betting line has the Bulldogs as a 3.5-point road favorite at BetMGM. Here’s how the matchup sets up and my early pick.

Georgia vs. Ole Miss Prediction & Best Bet

  • The pick: Georgia -3.5 (-110 at BetMGM)

Georgia’s run game and run defense give it the cleaner path in this Georgia vs. Ole Miss matchup. The Bulldogs can lean on the ground and make Ole Miss play a longer, slower game.

There are real risks here, and we cover them below. But at a short number, I like Georgia to cover on the road.

Georgia’s Run Game Brings a Plan to Ole Miss

Georgia ran the ball 42 times for 217 yards against Florida. On the other side, the Bulldogs held the Gators to 48 rushing yards on 28 carries and 246 total yards.

That formula travels. A strong run game can shorten the game and keep a dangerous offense on the sideline, which is exactly what Georgia wants in a hostile road spot.

Can Georgia Repeat That Against Ole Miss?

The Florida score needs some context. Georgia forced four takeaways that led to 17 points, including Chris Cole’s 66-yard fumble return for a touchdown. That’s a big share of a 27-point day.

Bettors shouldn’t count on four more turnovers in Oxford, since takeaways swing a lot from week to week. Gunner Stockton went 13-for-23 for 101 yards, which was enough with short fields. Against Ole Miss, Georgia will likely need more through the air to keep drives alive.

The Case for Ole Miss Plus the Points

Ole Miss has a quarterback who can make this uncomfortable. Chambliss went 22-of-34 for 263 yards with two touchdowns and an interception against Auburn. He also ran seven times for 65 yards and a score.

That game was just 17-15 before Chambliss’ 26-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. Ole Miss then won the fourth quarter 21-0. His mobility can stretch a defense when plays break down, and a night game at home only helps the Rebels.

What Laying 3.5 Points Means

Georgia -3.5 needs the Bulldogs to win by four or more. A three-point Georgia win loses the bet, and so does a late Ole Miss field goal that cuts a six-point lead to three.

That’s the main risk with a short road favorite. Still, Georgia’s ability to run the ball and stop the run gives it more ways to build and hold a cushion than Ole Miss has to close one.
