  • I’ve made my NHL picks today for Tuesday, Nov. 3, with three Kalshi positions on my card
  • Edmonton visits New Jersey at 11-2-2, but the Devils hold the rest edge
  • See my NHL predictions and best bets below, including a Hurricanes angle in Nashville

Three games stand out on Tuesday’s NHL schedule. Detroit is in Tampa Bay at 7 pm ET, Edmonton visits New Jersey at 7:30 pm ET, and Carolina heads to Nashville for an 8 pm ET puck drop.

All three of my positions come from Kalshi’s Nov. 3 game markets. The prices range from a road underdog to a pricey home favorite, so each one needs a different approach.

Here are my NHL predictions and best bets for Tuesday night.

NHL Picks Today for Nov. 3

MatchupPickKalshi YESImplied Chance
Oilers vs DevilsOilers to win42¢ / (+138)42%
Hurricanes vs PredatorsHurricanes -1.544¢ / (+127)42%
Red Wings vs LightningLightning to win72¢ / (-257)71%

Prices are YES buy quotes from Kalshi as of Nov. 2. Each contract pays $1 if it hits.

Edmonton’s 42¢ contract implies a 42% chance, while New Jersey is trading at 60¢. Carolina’s -1.5 contract also sits at 42¢, well below the 65¢ Hurricanes moneyline.

Tampa Bay at 71¢ is the most expensive buy on my card. Compare these prices with the latest NHL odds before you lock anything in.

NHL Predictions and Best Bets Today

Oilers vs Devils Prediction

  • Oilers to Win

My Oilers vs Devils prediction is Edmonton to win on the road. The Oilers are 11-2-2, and the market prices them at just 42% against a 9-5 New Jersey team.

The spot isn’t perfect. This is Edmonton’s third road game of the trip, after the Islanders on Oct. 31 and the Rangers on Nov. 1. The Oilers got Nov. 2 off, but New Jersey hasn’t played since Oct. 30.

The Devils are also 6-2 at home, so the rest and home-ice edges belong to them. I think that’s already baked into a 42¢ price on the better team, and I’m happy to buy it there.

Check New Jersey’s starter before puck drop. Connor Hellebuyck joined the Devils in an Oct. 23 trade with Winnipeg, and neither crease has been confirmed.

Hurricanes vs Predators Prediction

  • Hurricanes -1.5

For my Hurricanes vs Predators prediction, I’m backing Carolina to win by two or more. The Canes are 12-2-2, have outscored opponents 63-36, and are on a four-game winning streak.

The latest win was a 7-0 rout of Winnipeg on Nov. 1. Aho is driving the offense with 21 points on 9 goals and 12 assists.

Nashville is 5-4-5 and comes off a 5-4 shootout win over Tampa Bay on Oct. 31. The margin is the risk here, since Carolina’s two wins before the Winnipeg game were 3-2 over Columbus and 2-1 over Boston.

Even so, I’d rather pay 44¢ for a multi-goal Hurricanes win than 65¢ for the moneyline.

Red Wings vs Lightning Prediction

  • Lightning to Win

Wrapping up my NHL picks today, I’m predicting Tampa Bay at home in Red Wings vs Lightning. The Lightning are 8-3-2 overall and 6-0 at home.

The schedule also leans Tampa’s way. Detroit faces the Panthers on Nov. 2 and turns around to play the Lightning the next night. Tampa Bay has had two days off since facing Nashville on Oct. 31.

The catch is the price. A 72¢ contract only returns 28¢ in profit, so the upside is limited even if Tampa takes care of business. I’m keeping this position smaller than my other two.
