A week ago, you could get 12-1 on CJ Carr to win the Heisman Trophy. Then Notre Dame put the ball in his hands against unbeaten Miami. By halftime he had thrown two touchdowns, and by the time the Irish held on for a 31-24 win, he had his best argument yet for a trip to New York.
Carr is the new Heisman favorite at BetMGM, ahead of Miami quarterback Darian Mensah, who led last week. There was movement in Oxford, too, where Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton had a hand in five of the Bulldogs’ six touchdowns against Ole Miss.
Here’s how the Heisman Trophy odds changed since our Week 9 Heisman update, including where Jeremiah Smith stands after Ohio State’s loss.

CJ Carr’s Heisman Odds Go From +1200 to +120
Carr completed 29 of 40 passes for 319 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. The throw I’d go back to came just before halftime.
With the Irish up 10-3, Carr found Micah Gilbert for a touchdown that sent Miami to the locker room down two scores. His third TD pass made it 24-3.

The Heisman market had already started to shorten Carr’s price before kickoff. BetMGM had him at +600 during the week. At +120 after the game, his price implies about a 45% chance to win, up from roughly 8% at +1200 last Sunday. That’s how much ground he made up in one week.
Darian Mensah and Jeremiah Smith Drift in the Heisman Odds
Mensah went from +150 to +350. He threw three touchdown passes of his own, and Miami got back within a score after trailing by 21. Carr came away with the head-to-head win.
Malachi Toney missed the trip to South Bend with the ankle injury covered in our Miami vs Notre Dame injury report. BetMGM had Toney at +325 last Sunday and no longer lists him.
Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith had seven catches for 133 yards and a touchdown in a 41-28 loss to Oregon. Smith drifted from +275 to +400 despite that production. Even after back-to-back Ohio State losses, he’s still third on the board behind Carr and Mensah.
Gunner Stockton Climbs as Trinidad Chambliss Slips
Stockton needed only nine completions to throw four touchdown passes in Georgia’s 42-7 win at Ole Miss. Two went to Talyn Taylor from 58 and 65 yards out. Stockton also ran in a score from 15 yards. He finished with 186 passing yards and 28 on the ground.
Stockton’s Heisman odds shortened from +5000 to +1500. Across the field, Trinidad Chambliss went 18 of 34 for 170 yards and an interception without a touchdown pass. The Ole Miss quarterback drifted from +1500 to +4000, leaving Stockton at the same price Chambliss held a week ago.
Who Will Win the Heisman Trophy?
Carr has the shortest posted price, but +120 still puts him below even money. The next question is whether he can build on the Miami game against Boston College. He already gave voters a signature performance. Now he has to keep it from being the last one they remember.
Mensah gets Duke next, while Stockton gets Missouri after turning a top-10 road matchup into a rout. Carr and Stockton accounted for eight touchdowns between them Saturday. One is barely above even money and the other is still 15-1 heading into Week 11.
