Indiana (7-1) returns to Memorial Stadium after an overtime win at Michigan. Minnesota (5-2) visits Bloomington fresh off a 13-10 win over Iowa. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Every remaining game matters for Indiana’s College Football Playoff odds, while Minnesota gets a chance to play spoiler. The Golden Gophers have relied on situational defense and ball security, setting the stage for a physical battle in the trenches.
Both offenses have cooled in recent weeks. With Polymarket pricing Indiana at 93¢ to win outright, the spread and total are where this matchup gets interesting.
Minnesota vs Indiana Prediction
Prediction: Indiana pulls away at home in a low-scoring game.
My Minnesota vs Indiana prediction leans on the Hoosiers’ defense, which has carried them through a recent offensive dip.
Big Ten Pick #1: Indiana -20.5
- Pick: Indiana -20.5 (52¢ on Polymarket)

At 52¢, Indiana laying 20.5 points is my preferred side against a Minnesota offense that struggles to sustain drives. The Golden Gophers convert on third down at just a 34.0% clip. Over their last five games against Power Four opponents, they have averaged 17.2 points, 273.4 total yards and 72.6 rushing yards per game.
When Minnesota has the ball, quarterback Drake Lindsey faces a difficult matchup at the line of scrimmage against an aggressive Indiana front allowing just 12.0 points and 73.1 rushing yards per game. If Lindsey is constantly operating from behind the sticks, weapons like Javon Tracy and Noah Jennings will have a hard time finding space downfield.
On the other side, Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover runs an offense averaging 419.6 total yards per game this season. Minnesota’s defense is respectable at 20.1 points allowed per contest, but Indiana’s balance, featuring a two-pronged rushing attack with Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr., should wear down the visitors. A clean pocket gives Hoover time to find Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh and build a multi-score lead.
Big Ten Pick #2: Under 41.5
- Pick: Under 41.5 (52¢ on Polymarket)
The Under 41.5 at 52¢ fits the recent scoring trends of both programs. Indiana started the season hot, but its production has dipped noticeably over its last three contests. The Hoosiers are averaging 16.0 points and 89.7 rushing yards per game in that span, compared to 44.2 points and 252.6 rushing yards over their first five outings.
Minnesota has allowed 288.7 total yards per game, adding another reason to expect a lower-scoring matchup. Indiana’s defense has allowed just seven red-zone touchdowns all year, a 38.9% touchdown rate, so points should be hard to come by on both sides.
A stagnant Indiana rushing attack paired with a Minnesota offense that has struggled against Power Four defenses makes the Under a logical companion to the Indiana spread.

Indiana’s Recent Slowdown and the Trench Matchup
The Minnesota vs Indiana numbers show a clear gap in offensive volume. Indiana’s early production has masked a recent slowdown. The Hoosiers averaged 489.6 total yards per game over their first five outings, compared to 303.0 per contest over their last three.
Despite that dip, Indiana’s defense remains a strength, particularly against the run. The Hoosiers are surrendering just 73.1 rushing yards per game, which spells trouble for a Minnesota backfield led by TJ Thomas and Darius Taylor. If the Golden Gophers cannot establish the ground game, they will be pushed into obvious passing situations, playing into the hands of an opportunistic Indiana secondary.
Minnesota vs Indiana Spread & Odds
Polymarket prices as of Oct. 30 and subject to change.
Polymarket lists Indiana as a heavy outright favorite, with its moneyline contract trading at 93¢. Prediction markets price outcomes in cents, and the cost of a Yes share reflects the market’s implied probability of that event. That means risking 93¢ to win 7¢ in profit, which makes the moneyline an unappealing option for most traders.
The spread and total are far more balanced. Indiana -20.5 trades at 52¢ against 50¢ for Minnesota +20.5, while the Under 41.5 sits at 52¢ compared to 49¢ for the Over.
