It’s the week following the Masters, but that doesn’t mean the world’s best aren’t competing at the RBC Heritage. Five of the top-ten ranked golfers are teeing it up at Harbour Town Golf Links, with Justin Thomas the favorite to win for the first time in 2022, followed by Collin Morikawa in the 2022 RBC Heritage odds.

This course features some of the smallest greens on the PGA Tour, with accuracy and precision required more than usual with such a short, tight track. We have some intriguing players to zero in on in our sleepers and longshots card.

Sungjae Im Coming off Impressive Masters

Sungjae Im found himself on the first page of the leaderboard of the Masters for much of the tournament. He fired the best score on Thursday’s opening round, then hung around on the periphery of contention, where he finished in a tie for eighth. Heading into the final round, just two golfers had a better score than him.

For the season, he has earned five top-10’s, including a victory at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas. He’s been phenomenal in several key ‘strokes gained’ categories, including 13th in total strokes gained, 14th tee-to-green and 13th in scoring average.

Last year, he was in contention at this tournament, as he was tied for fourth through 54 holes. He wound up T-13th, where he gained nearly five shots on the field tee-to-green that week.

Pick: Sungjae Im to Win (+4000)

Hadwin Racking Up Top Ten Finishes

In five of his last six tournaments, Adam Hadwin has played some quality golf, recording a finish of T-26th or better. In the last three, he’s put together a hat-trick of top-10’s, going T-9th at the Players, T-7th at the Valspar and T-4th at the Valero Texas Open.

On the campaign, Hadwin is 19th in SG: approaching the green and 26th around the green. He’s twelfth in greens in regulation percentage and seventh in sand save percentage, which will go a long way on this challenging track.

In his last twelve rounds, he has excellent ‘strokes gained’ stats across the board.

Total Approach Tee-To-Green Ball Striking Short Game Around-The-Green Putting Off-The-Tee
3 5 6 8 16 20 25 32

While it might be a tall ask for him to win just his second career PGA Tour event, not many players have been playing as well and solidly as he has been lately. A top-10 is without question in the realm of possibilities.

Pick: Adam Hadwin Top-10 Finish (+500)

Top 20 Value Picks

  1. Beau Hossler (+550): In three of his last four tournaments, placing a top-20 wager on Beau Hossler would’ve cashed, as he’s had a T-4, T-16 and T-20 (along with one missed cut). He’s fourth in SG: putting on the campaign, and in those three top-20’s, he’s gained at least 5.5 strokes on the greens compared to his competitors. The last time he teed it up, Hossler was the 54-hole co-leader at the Valero Texas Open, before he settled for that fourth place showing.
  2. Anirban Lahiri (+550): In his last two starts, Anirban Lahiri posted a runner-up result at the Players Championship, then followed that up with a T-13th at the Valero Texas Open. For those two events, he’s ranked third in SG: off-the-tee, fourth in total strokes gained, sixth in ball striking and twelfth in putting.
