  • The Rocket Classic tees off Thursday, July 30th in the second last event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs

After 21-year-old phenom Jackson Koivun won the 3M Open in just his third professional start, he and the PGA Tour are headed to Detroit, Michigan for the Rocket Classic. It’s the second last tournament before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin, meaning the field isn’t overly strong. It does boast some solid players who have won big events this year, like Cameron Young and Wyndham Clark.

Going low is imperative for success at Detroit Golf Club, with each of the seven all-time winners shooting at least 18-under en route to their title. Close finishes have been the norm here in recent years, with four of the last five champions either claiming the trophy in a playoff or winning by a single stroke.

I’m starting my card this week with Akshay Bhatia, who has a victory at Bay Hill on the season, which was the third of his career. He has three other top-10s in 2026, including just two starts ago, a T-5th at the Travelers Championship.

Bhatia also has had success at this track in the past, very nearly winning in 2024, where he finished a shot out of a playoff. You can snag him at +4000 on DraftKings, which is odds longer than the top-15 golfers on the board, so there’s still considerable value on him.

Rocket Classic 2026 Picks & Value Bets

  • Brooks Koepka +4700 at DraftKings: Brooks Koepka needs a big week to ensure he makes it to the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He’s played some solid golf in his return to the PGA Tour, with six top-20s, but hasn’t serious contended to win on most occasions. Last time out he had a top-30 at the Open Championship, so like my other picks, I’m bullish on him at +4700 on DraftKings.
  • Corey Conners +7600 at DraftKings: After posting a middling season for the better part of 2026, Corey Conners seems to be working out of his funk in the last month. He put together a top-25 at the U.S. Open, had a T-7th at the signature event Travelers Championship and a top-15 at the Open Championship. Given that this field doesn’t have a ton of star power, I feel very comfortable with the Canadian at this price point.
  • Jason Day +10000 at DraftKings: This one is more of a talent trumping the listed number, as Jason Day hasn’t been firing on all cylinders, but at these odds, he’s definitely worth a sprinkle. He had a runner-up earlier in the year at The American Express, and another top-ten in Houston, and has a pair of top-20s at this venue in the past.
  • Cameron Davis +75000 at DraftKings: There’s no other way to sugarcoat it, Cameron Davis has had a really poor season, though he did just post his first top-25 of the campaign at the Genesis Scottish Open. I love taking a flier on him at these bloated odds, because he’s a horse for this course, having won twice in 2021 and 2024, and two other top-20s in 2022 and 2023. While winning might be a stretch, given his poor play in 2026, he’ll be fascinating to monitor in the top 10/20 markets.
