The Houston Astros (31-38, 15-19 away) and Los Angeles Angels (26-42, 14-19 home) meet in the rubber-match of their three-game AL West series tonight at Angel Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 8:38 pm ET on Wednesday, June 10.
The Astros took the opener 5-4 on Monday before the Angels answered back with a dominant 10-1 victory on Tuesday. The Angels are slight home favorites on the moneyline at -120 with Reid Detmers (2-5, 4.26 ERA) on the mound opposite Houston starter Peter Lambert (5-4, 3.55 ERA).
Below, I have set out the main hitter props (home runs, hits, total bases) and pitcher props (strikeouts, total outs, walks allowed, earned runs), followed by my three best Astros vs Angels prop picks, two of which are plus-money wagers.
Astros vs Angels Player-Prop Odds
Looking at the Astros vs Angels player props, Yordan Alvarez – the second-favorite in the AL MVP odds – paces the home run lines, sitting at a short +295 via DraftKings. Following close behind are Mike Trout (+305) and Christian Walker (+350).
Jeremy Pena’s hit total is bumped to 1.5, offering solid plus-money (+182) if he can secure a multi-hit performance.
The pitching props reveal a sharp contrast between the two starters. Detmers carries a Total Outs baseline of 17.5 compared to Lambert’s 16.5. Detmers also brings a much higher strikeout expectation at 6.5, though DraftKings currently favors the under at -133.
Meanwhile, Lambert’s strikeout line sits at an accessible 4.5, juiced heavily toward the over at -137. Both pitchers are lined at 2.5 Earned Runs.
The Astros are dealing with a decimated middle infield. With Carlos Correa undergoing season-ending ankle surgery, the Astros must dig deep into their organizational depth to cover shortstop. The Angels face severe issues in the power department. The absence of Jorge Soler removes an explosive bat from the DH spot, making it easier for Lambert to navigate the middle of the lineup.
Astros vs Angels Player-Prop Picks & Best Bets
Prop Pick #1: Reid Detmers: 7+ Strikeouts (+113 via Kalshi)
I am leading off with a clear value play on the mound. Oddsmakers set the strikeout line at 6.5, with the under currently favored. However, Detmers has been an elite swing-and-miss artist, carrying a K/9 rate of 10.7 across 74 innings pitched.
Detmers typically works deep into games, boasting a 5.69 innings-per-start average. Applying his K/9 to his average workload, he mathematically projects for 6.76 strikeouts per start. Catching a line of 6.5 at +108 odds offers a mathematical edge.
Prop Pick #2: Yordan Alvarez: Over 1.5 Total Bases (+108 via Kalshi)
Through 243 at-bats, Alvarez has racked up 77 hits for a .317 batting average. He sports a .642 Slugging Percentage and a .325 Isolated Power mark.
Out of those 77 hits, 35 have gone for extra bases, including 13 doubles and 22 home runs. This means 45.4% of the time Alvarez gets a base hit, it instantly cashes an Over 1.5 Total Bases ticket on a single swing. That situational trend makes the +104 price a strong investment.
It also helps that today’s MLB weather forecasts show hitter-friendly conditions at Angel Stadium.
Prop Pick #3: Peter Lambert: 5+ Strikeouts (-122 via Kalshi)
Lambert’s prop line is lagging behind his actual output. He strikes out 8.35 batters per nine innings. Averaging 5.63 innings per start translates to a baseline expectation of 5.22 strikeouts every time he takes the mound. While I have to lay some juice at -137, clearing a low 4.5 bar provides a very safe floor.
