The World Series starts tonight in Milwaukee. The Brewers clinched the pennant with a 6-4 win over the Dodgers on October 15, and the Rays closed out the Guardians 7-3 on October 19.
Milwaukee is 4-0 at home this October and comes in on seven days of rest. Tampa Bay counters with a lineup that rarely strikes out and loves to run.
First pitch is 8 pm ET on FOX from American Family Field. I’ve got two Game 1 plays on the Kalshi board.
Best Prediction Market Picks for Rays vs Brewers World Series Game 1
These are the Rays vs Brewers prices on the Kalshi Game 1 board.
Every contract pays $1 if it hits, before fees. An Over 5.5 share at 61¢ returns 39¢ in profit, while a Rays share at 37¢ returns 63¢.
Prices as of October 23 on Kalshi. Eligible new users can use Kalshi promo code RAD55 for a $55 bonus after depositing and trading $25.
Rays vs Brewers Over/Under Prediction
- Over 5.5 runs (61¢ on Kalshi)
My top Rays vs Brewers prediction is the Over 5.5 runs, and it starts with the line. Six combined runs cashes it.
The total opened at 5.5 and has moved to 6.5 elsewhere, including BetMGM. We can still buy Over 5.5 on Kalshi. That extra run matters: a 4-2 game cashes this pick but loses the Over 6.5.
Misiorowski had an unbelievable regular season, but October has been a different story. He’s thrown just 8.1 innings across two postseason starts and didn’t get through the fifth in either one.
Tampa Bay has the bats to make him work. Yandy Diaz has 12 hits in nine playoff games, Junior Caminero hit 42 home runs in the regular season, and the Rays struck out fewer times than any team.
Milwaukee should contribute against Martinez, too. The Brewers finished first in MLB against right-handed pitching in weighted runs created plus (wRC+), a measure of overall offensive production. Both clubs also create runs with their legs: Tampa Bay stole 164 bases and Milwaukee swiped 162.
Milwaukee’s 1.33 postseason bullpen ERA is the concern. The Rays’ pen sits at 3.60, though, and the Over only needs six runs between both teams.
Rays vs Brewers Moneyline Prediction
- Rays moneyline (37¢ on Kalshi)
I’m adding a small sprinkle on Tampa Bay to steal Game 1. Kalshi gives the Rays a 37% chance, and a 37¢ share pays $1 if they win, a 63¢ profit before fees.
Martinez is the reason. Tampa Bay is 24-9 in his starts this season, including the playoffs, and he’s allowed three runs over nine postseason innings.
He’s done that on the road this October, too. Milwaukee is still 4-0 at home, so this stays a smaller play than the Over.
Rays vs Brewers Starting Pitchers
The Rays vs Brewers starting pitchers matchup flips depending on the sample. Misiorowski went 16-5 and led MLB in ERA (1.80), strikeouts (252) and WHIP (0.80) during the regular season.
The second-year arm hasn’t found that groove in October. He has a 3.24 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP in the playoffs, with 11 strikeouts in 8.1 innings.
Martinez, a first-time All-Star this year, went 15-6 with a 3.10 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. He’s allowed seven hits and three walks this postseason, and Tampa Bay tabbed him for Game 1 while pushing Drew Rasmussen to Game 2.
