  • Have a look at the Braves vs Blue Jays odds below, our best bet and player props to target

A heavyweight interleague series continues on Saturday, May 13th when the Blue Jays (22-16, 10-3 home) host the Braves (25-13, 15-4 road) in the second of a three-game set. The opening pitch for this matinee affair is scheduled for 3:07 pm ET and you can watch on Bally Sports Network or Sportsnet. Read on for an analysis of the Braves vs Blue Jays.

As expected, Atlanta has raced out to a terrific start and have overtaken the Houston Astros as the chalk in the World Series odds. On the other hand, the Blue Jays have stumbled a bit of late, losing five of nine after an 18-11 start to the year.

Below, you can find the Braves vs Blue Jays odds for Saturday afternoon’s ballgame as we also preview this contest to offer up our best bets and prediction.

Braves vs Blue Jays Odds

Team Moneyline Runline Total
Atlanta Braves +100 +1.5 (-190) O 9.5 (-100)
Toronto Blue Jays -120 -1.5 (+160) U 9.5 (-120)

Facing the best squad in the National League and going against one of their top hurlers, the Blue Jays have still been made -120 moneyline favorites for this matchup. Toronto owns the second-best home record in the American League.

With no chance of rain and beautiful afternoon temperatures expected to be around 62 degrees, the roof should definitely be open at the Rogers Centre. Wind should not play much of a factor in the cavernous ballpark.

Atlanta vs Toronto Probable Pitchers

What a blessing the performance of Bryce Elder has been for the Braves given the injury issues facing their starting rotation. After not making the team out of spring training, the 23-year-old was called up in the first week of the season after ace Max Fried injured his hamstring.

Seizing the opportunity given to him, Elder pitched six scoreless innings in his first start and hasn’t looked back. Being surrounded by Fried and Spencer Strider, two top candidates in the Cy Young odds, can only help Elder in his second foray against big-league hitting.

He made nine starts last season and acquitted himself quite nicely, but his results this campaign have been nothing short of dazzling. At this point, he’s actually leading all National League pitchers with a 253 ERA+, showing that it doesn’t matter which ballpark he pitches in, Elder will get the job done.

Elder vs Berrios Stats

Bryce Elder
VS
Jose Berrios
3-0 Record 3-3
1.74 ERA 4.91
1.11 WHIP 1.24
.219 OBA .266
2.8 SO/W Ratio 5.1

Fresh off signing a huge contract extension, Jose Berrios had a season to forget in 2022. Finishing with an ERA of 5.23, the Jays starter allowed the most hits and earned runs of any American League pitcher.

Concern was running rampant in the organization after Berrios got touched up for 14 runs in his first two starts this year, but he’s performed admirably since.

In his last five starts, the Puerto Rican native is 3-1 with a 2.93 ERA. While he’s still giving up more hits than he’d like, Berrios has only walked eight batters while striking out 41 giving him a 5.1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, the best mark of his career.

Braves vs Blue Jays Player Props Picks

There aren’t too many MLB starting lineups that can boast the type of offensive potential these Braves can.

Between Austin Riley, Matt Olson, and a healthy Ronald Acuna, they have three potential candidates in the odds to win MVP, with Acuna off to a head start this season.

In the first month of the year, the Braves’ leadoff hitter was really taking advantage of the new pitch clock rules that pitchers had to deal with. He was a constant distraction on the basepaths, swiping 13 bases before May. Acuna managed one of only two Atlanta hits on Friday, so roll the dice to get things started for them with a single in his first plate appearance Saturday at +400 odds.

For Toronto, Daulton Varsho has been on fire in May after struggling in his first month with his new team. He has hits in all but one of his last nine games and has homered four times during that span. Pick him at +120 to go over 1.5 total bases.

Braves vs Blue Jays Predictions

While Toronto has been great at home, Atlanta has the best road mark in the MLB odds of any team. They actually haven’t lost two consecutive road games all season.

Our prediction is that the Braves even things up with the Blue Jays before their rubber match on Sunday. Berrios might be more experienced, but Elder is proving to be the better pitcher and Atlanta should be anxious to wake the bats after a terrible Friday at the plate.

Pick: Atlanta Braves Moneyline (+100)
