Urias is also among the top 7% in exit velocity (86.2) and the top 10% in bases on balls percentage (5.3). He’s 11-2 with a 2.71 ERA in 15 road starts during the 2021 season.

Since starting pitchers Johnny Cueto and Alex Wood are each on the IL, Giants manager Gabe Kapler is going with bullpen games both Saturday and Sunday. It’s expected that he’ll either hand the ball to lefty Sammy Long or southpaw Jose Quintana.
Claimed on waivers Monday from the Los Angeles Angels, Quintana worked his 3.1 innings of scoreless relief with six strikeouts in his Giants debut the next night. Long last pitched on Sunday, allowing six earned runs in 4.2 innings while opposing the Atlanta Braves. He’s faced the Dodgers once this season. The rookie pitched two scoreless innings against them on July 29. Long allowed two hits and struck out two.
