Holding a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, the Dodgers have improved to -475 favorites in the 2025 World Series odds. The Blue Jays are 360 underdogs to win three of the next four. Ahead of Game 3, the Dodgers were -236 favorites to repeats as World Series champs, with the Jays at +196 to win their first title since 1993. Bieber’s last start came in Game 7 of the ALCS against Seattle, a game the Jays won 4-3 in comeback fashion. The 6’3 righty wasn’t good, allowing two runs on seven hits and walk over just 3.2 innings with five Ks. That was the second time in three postseason starts he failed to finish the fourth inning. In Game 3 against the Yankees in the ALDS, he went just 2.0 IP, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk with a pair of Ks.

His first start of the ALCS was by his best of the 2025 playoffs; the 30-year-old veteran went six strong, allowing just two runs (courtesy of a two-run first inning home run by Julio Rodriguez) on four hits and a walk, while fanning eight Mariners.

Ohtani’s first start of the postseason was good but not great; he surrendered three runs on three hits and a walk over 6.0 IP against the Phillies (NLDS Game 1) while racking up nine strikeouts.

His second was an absolute gem, pitching six shutout innings against the Brewers in the clinching Game 4 of the NLCS. He struck out ten Milwaukee hitters while allowing just two hits and three walks.

Several Jays hitters have had success against Ohtani in the past. George Springer is a scorching 7-for-15 with two home runs and a 1.367 OPS, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa is 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs. Vlad Guerrero Jr has a 1.319 OPS in eight ABs while Bo Bichette has a 1.100 OPS in five.

Bieber has considerably better numbers against the Dodger lineup, holding them, collectively, to a .190 average and .579 OPS in 57 ABs. Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman have both taken him yard, but those are their only two hits in 13 at-bats.
