Two struggling teams begin a three-game series as the Colorado Rockies visit the Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:35 p.m. ET Monday at PNC Park.

Kuhl has lost his last two starts, including getting tagged for six runs (five earned) and eight hits in three innings by the San Francisco Giants last Tuesday at home. He had one walk and no strikeouts.

At PNC Park, Kuhl has a 17-13 career record and 4.15 ERA in 51 games (42 starts). He is 1-1 with a 3.43 ERA in four road starts this season and 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA in five starts at night.

Brubaker has yet to record a win and has lost his past two starts. Against the Cubs last Tuesday in Chicago, he worked 5.2 innings and was charged with six runs (four earned) while allowing six hits, striking out 10 and walking three.

In his lone career start against the Rockies, Brubaker pitched six scoreless innings last season for a win in Pittsburgh.

The Rockies’ Kris Bryant is hitless in six career at-bats against Brubaker, who hasn’t notched a win since last Aug. 24.

Pirates designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach is questionable after missing three straight games with a lower-body injury.

This is the first meeting of the year between the teams after the Rockies won the season series 4-2 in 2021. Blackmon led the way by hitting .381 (8 for 21) with two doubles and two triples.
