The United States has revenge on its mind as Pool B play continues in the 2026 WBC. USA and Brazil will clash at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas at 8:00 pm ET on Friday, March 6. FOX will carry the broadcast.
Continue reading for the USA vs Brazil odds, including the moneyline, runline, and total. I have also attached my picks for the affair as well as the time and channel needed in order to watch the game.
USA vs Brazil Odds
The USA is a massive home* favorite in its WBC opener. On the moneyline, the U.S. is -2500 (theScore Bet) with a comical runline set at -9.5 for -125 odds on DraftKings. In contrast, Brazil is a long shot at +2000 on FanDuel to win. The runline is +9.5 on Caesars at +115 odds. It is worth noting that there is a mercy rule set at 15 runs (through five innings) and 10 runs (through seven innings).
The total is set at 14.5 runs. Over bettors can take over 14.5 runs at BetMGM for -120 odds. Under bettors can take under 14.5 runs at FanDuel for +112 odds.
*While the U.S. is functioning as the host nation, it will be batting as the “road” team.
USA vs Brazil Picks
- USA -9.5 (-125, DraftKings)
I anticipate the USA forcing a mercy rule victory in this contest. In WBC history, the U.S. has forced two mercy rule wins. Back in 2006, the U.S. throttled South Africa 17-0 to win in just five innings. In the last WBC, the U.S. run-ruled Canada 12-1 through seven innings. Although the run rule did not apply in the 2023 semifinals, the U.S. also beat Cuba 14-2.
- Under 14.5 (+112, FanDuel)
I am threading the needle with this bet. Similar to Japan’s 13-0 win over Chinese Taipei earlier today, I expect the USA to win in a rout, with the game’s total not reaching the over. Brazil is unlikely to score much against a loaded American pitching staff. Meanwhile, I think the U.S. should score at least 10 runs against a non-MLB Brazilian staff.
The U.S. is favored to win the entire tournament itself, while Brazil is either last or tied for last, depending on the book in WBC odds.
USA vs Brazil: How to Watch
USA vs Brazil will take place on Friday, March 6, at 8:00 pm ET in Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. It is 7:00 pm ET locally in Houston.
In the United States, viewers can watch on FOX or Fox Deportes. Listeners should tune in to MLB Audio and Sirius XM.
USA vs Brazil: Starting Pitcher Preview
USA: Logan Webb
The ace of the San Francisco Giants, Logan Webb has made the last two MLB All-Star Games and has three consecutive top-10 finishes in NL Cy Young voting. While his workhorse mentality will not factor in this tournament, given the imposed pitch limit, Webb has pitched 200 or more innings in each of the last three seasons. He led the NL in strikeouts in 2025.
Brazil: Bo Takahashi
Bo Takahashi currently pitches for the Saitama Seibu Lions in NPB. He was previously in the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds organizations, but he did not pitch in the Majors. He has also pitched in the KBO. Last season, he had a 3.28 ERA in NPB. The 29-year-old took the loss in his lone appearance in WBC qualifiers.
Pitch Limits
In the group stage, pitchers are limited to just 65 pitches. Baring ultimate cruise control, neither pitcher is likely to pitch beyond three or four innings.
World Baseball Classic History
USA
The United States has appeared in all six World Baseball Classics. They have advanced out of the group stage in all five previous entries. The US has twice lost in the quarterfinals (2006, 2013), finished fourth in 2009, and runner-up in 2023. In 2017, the Americans triumphed over Puerto Rico.
Brazil
This is Brazil’s second appearance in the WBC. In 2013, Brazil went 0-3 with losses to Japan, Cuba, and China.
