A lat injury to start the year has limited right-hander Luis Severino to just 11 starts before Sunday.
The 29-year-old righty is coming off a win though — his first since June 24, in an 8-5 decision over the Kansas City Royals.
Severino went 5.2 innings, giving up eight hits, three earned runs, including a pair of dingers. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out five Royals, tied for the 2nd-most K’s he’s had in a game all year.

He was rocked by these same O’s on July 6, chased after 2.2 innings, after giving up 10 hits and seven earned runs, while walking three. Gunnar Henderson took him yard twice.

Baltimore counters with righty Dean Kremer, who has already set a career-high in wins in a season with 10 (his best total was eight a year ago), good for a tie for 2nd-best in the majors.
He’s gotten a no-decision in each of his last two outings, but Baltimore won those, and have won four straight Kremer starts.

He didn’t figure in a 7-6 win, April 7, going five innings, giving up five hits and four earned runs, walking three and striking out four.
