Youth meets experience in one of the more fun heavyweight scraps on the card. Josh Hokit faces Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn of the White House, and the matchup is a classic puncher-versus-pressure clash.
Hokit earned this spot with a wild 15-minute war against Curtis Blaydes. Lewis got the call to fight on the White House lawn off the strength of his name and his knockout power. Here’s my Hokit vs. Lewis prediction.
Hokit vs Lewis Prediction
Lewis is the most dangerous one-shot puncher in heavyweight history, but his blueprint is simple. He either flattens you early or he fades and loses the later minutes. Once the finish doesn’t come, he tends to shell up and stop working.
Hokit is the wrong style for that. He’s a two-sport athlete and an All-American wrestler who walks through shots and keeps coming. His cardio held up against Blaydes for a full 15 minutes, and that kind of pace is what wears an older fighter down.
The wrestling tilts the fight too. Hokit can change levels and put Lewis on his back, and Lewis has always been uncomfortable fighting off his hips. Time spent grappling is time Hokit isn’t standing in front of that power, and it drains Lewis’s gas tank in the process. That’s the smart version of this game plan.
In my early card preview I had Hokit grinding out the win, and the cleanest version of that is a late stoppage once Lewis empties the tank. The 41-year-old can crack anyone for the first few minutes, but surviving Hokit’s pace into round two or three is the real ask.
Laying -455 on the moneyline makes no sense. Hokit by KO/TKO/DQ at -143 is the better price and the likely ending, with Lewis fading and getting overwhelmed late. You’re getting a fair number on the most probable way this plays out.

Hokit is a -455 favorite, an implied probability of about 82%. Lewis comes back at +340, or roughly 23%. Both fighters are priced as live to score the knockout, which fits Lewis’s power and Hokit’s relentless pace.

Hokit vs Lewis Tale of the Tape
Lewis owns the size, the reach, and a knockout record nobody in UFC history can match. Hokit gives up six inches of reach but brings 13 years of youth and a far better gas tank. That tradeoff is the whole fight. If Hokit can weather the opening exchanges, the math swings hard in his favor.
