  • Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano props are live to bet ahead of Saturday’s MMA MVP fight on Netflix.
  • My prime prop to target is Benavidez to knock down Ramirez.
  • Take a look at the Rousey vs Carano prop bets and odds for submission, KO, and round finish.

The Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano fight expects to be quite a party. It seems appropriate as two former MMA fighters get back in the ring after years of being out of the sport. Let’s get ready to rumble late on Saturday night (around 11:20 pm ET). This MVP main event is for pride and bragging rights more than anything else.

Rousey, the former UFC Bantamweight champion, is a large favorite on the moneyline, now at -625 on DraftKings (-590 via FanDuel, -600 via Caesars, and -700 via Bet365). As always, more choices are out there from the props. Rousey is moving up to 145 pounds to take on Carano in this fight.

Here are just a few Rousey vs Carano prop bets, including the odds for submission, KO, and round finish from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Given how much ring rust both fighters have, the numbers still lean on Rousey winning by submission. A growing segment of the betting public has the fight going the distance, as the fear is both fighters might not have the best stamina. Does that leave a decision open? Anything is possible. Out of Rousey’s 12 wins, nine were by submission in her UFC/early MMA days. Now, her last fight was December 30th, 2016 against Amanda Nunes (she was knocked out by the way). Rousey is also 39 by the way.

The public craves grudge matches, but this fight was originally a rumor way back in 2014. Gina Carano last fought on August 15th, 2009, against Cris Cyborg for a Strikeforce championship. That also did not end well (Carano was TKO’d by punches). Again, seeing that Bet365 number for Rousey not to win by submission (+300 for no submission at Bet365 at press time) is intriguing, as Carano is 44. Combine the two ages and the 17 year layoff of Carano and that is an option I am taking.

Yes, as Drew Ellis wrote previously, this could be one of those fights that could be a blaze of glory or total ugliness. One of the reasons why both fighters are exceedingly in plus-money territory here is simple. Carano is a considerable underdog and Rousey prefers submissions over knockouts. Again, note those submission numbers and how the betting public views this from a variety of perspectives.

I believe the KO/TKO/DQ method to be flawed here for both fighters. The first round might be really telling here for this bout.

Yes, there are a ton of options here, and it can seem overwhelming. As we mentioned, the idea that Rousey is favored to finish this main event before the end of Round 1 is not that surprising. The betting numbers and public appear to be considerably behind this.

The part of this fight that can go south quickly is if Gina Carano gets through the early rounds. That would set up the potential for the fight to go to a decision. Rousey will likely keep trying to attack, while Carano may not mount much offensively to grind out a decision herself.

Do not forget that Netflix carries this fight and the card as well for free (if one has a Netflix subscription). East Coast fans will have to stay up potentially close to midnight. Do not forget, if you have faith in a Round 1 finish, it may not get back to even or plus money. The points strategy is not a bad tactic to take here. Points for Rousey is now at +900 via Bet365. Expecting a draw (+6500) may be a bridge too far.

I believe Ronda Rousey will get the win by decision on Saturday. Good luck, and go check out all the best online sportsbook options before the bell rings on this Rousey vs Carano clash.
