Excitement Around Stephen A. Smith Props
There’s going to be plenty of anticipation for the celebrity game, mostly because ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith will be involved. We have a couple of props on the board questioning whether he’ll be bleeped on the broadcast or whether he’ll throw a chair.
In terms of the chair prop, I can’t see this happening. He’s not one to cause a scene with his actions; he’s more likely to cause a scene with his words. It also seems out of character for him as he’s mild-mannered, for the most part.

In terms of the bleeping, though, it feels like there’s a bit of value on the ‘Yes’. It’s still quite unlikely as he’s always on TV and watches his words, but in this game, we might see an F-word slip out in the heat of the game. I’d take a small flyer on the ‘Yes’ here.
Which Former NBA Player Will Score First?
Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles are both back in the national spotlight and they’re being pitted head-to-head in this prop.
Richardson has been out of the league since 2013 while Darius Miles hasn’t played NBA ball since 2009. In terms of age, Q-Rich is 39 while Miles is 38, so there’s no real edge here.

I’m going to go with Richardson mostly because he’s a shooter and he’s still active, playing with Big3. He’s also on the Orlando Magic broadcast with FOX, so he’s still closely associated with the game. With Miles, we’re not really sure where he’s at. We don’t know if he’s lost his touch as he’s been away for a long time.
Since we don’t have to lay a ton of juice with Richardson, I’ll go with him.
Which Team Captain Will Score First?
Common and Chance The Rapper will be the two captains at this weekend’s game but there’s a big difference in quality between the two. While Chance The Rapper balls a little bit, he’s just OK. There’s a famous TMZ video of him missing 11 straight uncontested, easy shots at Staples Center.

As for Common, his real name is actually Lonnie Lynn Jr. His father played in the ABA and he’s spent a lot of time around the game, once being the Chicago Bulls ball boy in the Michael Jordan era. He’s also taller than Chance the Rapper (6’0 versus 5’10) and has a bigger frame. He’s the better bet to score first.
