The NBA’s Play-In Tournament tips off on Tuesday with a pair of contests. The Hawks visit the Heat in the first game of a doubleheader on TNT, followed by the Lakers hosting the Timberwolves.

Player props are live for both games, and the absence of Rudy Gobert leaves us with some interesting decisions to make when it comes to the night cap. We’ll get to that matchup later on, but our card begins with a play against Miami’s Gabe Vincent.

The Heat’s starting point guard boasts a points prop of just 9.5, the second lowest of anyone playing in the Atlanta-Miami contest. The juice is currently shaded toward the under, and you can certainly make an argument that his current total is simply too high.

NBA Play-In Games Prop #1: Gabe Vincent Under 9.5 Points

Vincent enters this game in less than ideal form. He’s shooting just 41% in the month of April through five games, failing to reach 10 points in four of his five outings.

He’s gone ice cold from three, missing eight of his past nine attempts, and his volume has been wildly inconsistent lately. Vincent averages eight shots per game, but has put up fewer than eight attempts 10 times over his past 19 games.

His attempts go way up when players like Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are out of the lineup, but with the Heat looking relatively healthy for Tuesday, expect a decrease in Vincent’s volume.

Also working against him, is the fact that veteran Kyle Lowry is on the bench ready to take over his minutes. In a playoff game, don’t be surprised if Lowry winds up eating into Vincent’s playing time, further reducing the 26-year-old’s ceiling.

NBA Play-In Games Prop #2: Kyle Anderson Under 8.5 Rebounds

As mentioned earlier, Gobert is out for the Timberwolves after throwing a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson in the huddle on Sunday.

Also missing from Minnesota’s lineup on Tuesday will be Jaden McDaniels, and his absence opens up more playing time for Anderson.

The Timberwolves had to suspend Gobert for throwing a punch, but accepted that it was a shot to chest with no intent to injure Kyle Anderson and understood that Anderson called Gobert a “bitch” repeatedly on a night Gobert was playing hurt, sources tell ESPN.

Online sportsbooks are expecting a serious boost in Anderson’s production, but it looks like they’re overvaluing him, especially in the rebounding department.

His over/under currently lies at 8.5, but he should be hard pressed to eclipse that number. Minnesota is a bottom-eight rebounding team, while the Lakers rank sixth. Anderson will cede the bulk of the rebounding work to Karl-Anthony Towns, and is at a serious size disadvantage battling against Anthony Davis on the glass.

Anderson was pressed into heavy minutes the last time he faced LA, and his effort on the glass was underwhelming to say the least. He logged 31 minutes that night, producing only four boards.
