  • The Brooklyn Nets head to Milwaukee for Game 6 of their series with the Bucks Thursday, June 17th
  • The Bucks are favored by 5.5 points but bettors will also want to pay attention to the prop market

There’s only one game on the NBA docket tonight and it could be the last one of the season for the Milwaukee Bucks. Down 3-2, they’ll have to beat the Nets tonight to force a series deciding Game 7 on Saturday afternoon.

This could have easily been a closeout game for the Bucks as they were up 59-43 at the half of Game 5 Tuesday night. Kevin Durant was having none of it, as he led the Nets back – finishing the game with 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. If he puts forth another effort like that tonight, there will be no more games in this series.

ESPN will televise this game and FanDuel has our backs with plenty of player prop options. Check out the table below to see the lines on the players taking the floor tonight. Scroll down to see two of the better bets on the board.

Odds as of June 17th

James Harden is Back

Lost in the Kevin Durant heroics was the fact that James Harden made his first appearance in this series since Game 1. He left that game in the opening minute with what was being described as right hamstring soreness. He looked more like a decoy in Game 5 than anything else, but it was promising that he could log 45 minutes in the win.

While the Nets won’t have the third member of their big three, Kyrie Irving, coach Steve Nash said Harden will be available to play tonight.

Harden was definitely rusty on offense as even he said he didn’t expect to play in Game 5. He didn’t take his normal allotment of shots as he only took 10 from the field, while only taking three free throw attempts. To put that in perspective, Harden attempted double digit free throw attempts in three of the five games against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs.

While the offense was not there in Game 5, the fact that Harden was able to be more than a turnstile on defense was most promising. The Bucks kept going to whomever Harden was guarding and he was able to shut that down over and over. That’s a great sign for the health of his hamstring.

Tonight Harden’s point total is way too low. Obviously he is not 100% but it’s been two days since Game 5 and given the fact that he was able to play so many minutes, one has to think he may be in better form tonight. We’re talking James Harden here.

Instead of going after his points prop at 15.5 -122, bettors should think bigger. It’s not often we get an opportunity to go in on Harden to score 20+ points at +200 but that’s exactly what FanDuel is offering tonight. Harden went over this number in all five games with the Celtics and will likely take shots in the teens tonight. This seems like a great spot.

  • The Pick: Harden to score 20+ Points (+200)

Harden Dishes Too

One thing about Harden’s game that has changed greatly since joining the Nets is the fact that he is an assist guy now. It’s not like he didn’t rack up the assists in previous stops, it’s just that his reputation was that of a ball hog. The take was widely believed as it even crossed over into other sports.

We know now that Harden is not just a scorer and should be feared as a facilitator. In Game 5, he was able to drop eight assists and he wasn’t event the primary ball handler. Tonight I expect him to look a little more like the James Harden that closed out the last three games of the series with the Celtics with at least 10 assists in each game. This bet is also a great way to hedge the points prop if Harden is indeed a decoy.

  • The Pick: Harden Over 9.5 Assists (+174) * Alt Line
