The Milwaukee Bucks (51-36, 18-24 away, 38-48-1 ATS) staved off elimination in Game 5 against the Indiana Pacers (50-37, 28-15 home, 46-38-3 ATS) on Tuesday night on their home court, but they still trail the best-of-seven series 3-2 as it returns to Indianapolis for Game 6 on Thursday night at Gainsbridge Fieldhouse (6:40 pm ET).

With stars Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (Achilles) both unlikely to play once again, Milwaukee finds itself a big underdog in the Bucks vs Pacers Game 6 odds.

The Pacers remain -700 favorites to advance to the second round of the NBA playoff bracket, but that’s down from -2000 ahead of Game 5. The Bucks improved from +1000 to +500 after their decisive 115-92 home win.

Injury Reports for Milwaukee vs Indiana Game 6

The Bucks are likely to have the same lineup on the floor for Game 6 which, unfortunately for Milwaukee fans, includes neither Giannis Antetokounmpo (30.4 PPG, 11.5 RPG, 6.5 APG) or Damian Lillard (24.3 PPG, 7.0 APG, 4.4 RPG). Giannis is doubtful to play due to the calf injury that’s kept him out the entirety of the postseason. Lillard is also doubtful with an Achilles injury he suffered late in Game 3.

The Bucks’ Game 6 injury report also lists Khris Middleton (15.1 PPG, 5.3 APG, 4.7 RPG) as probable with an ankle issue, and Bobby Portis (13.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG) as probable with an oblique strain.

In addition to Bennedict Mathurin, who’s out for the season due to shoulder surgery, the only name on the Pacers’ injury report in All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton (10.1 PPG, 10.9 APG), who is questionable with a back injury. After piling 36 assists in the first three games of the series, Haliburton had just 10 combined in Games 4 and 5.

Bucks Shake Off Slow Start to Dominate Game 5

Milwaukee looked destined for elimination on Tuesday night after falling behind 31-23 by the end of the first quarter. But the Bucks had erased that deficit and then some by halftime (53-48) before cruising to a 115-92 win to keep their season alive. Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis both dropped 29 points while the Bucks shot 52.4% from the floor as a team.

Milwaukee also dominated the glass, finishing +8 in rebounding (44-36) while forcing 12 Indiana turnovers. The Bucks edge on the boards was a drastic reversal from the previous games in the series, and the Pacers still have a 51.4% rebound percentage in the postseason.

On the Indiana side, Tyrese Haliburton had team-highs with just 16 points and six assists. The Pacers shot just 44.4% from the field.

After dropping 29 points in Game 5, Khris Middleton has the highest point total on the board for Game 6 at 26.5. Bobby Portis, who also had 29 for the Bucks on Tuesday, is at 21.5. Pascal Siakam leads the Pacers players at 22.5 while Myles Turner is at 20.5.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Indiana Pacers Game 6 Predictions

The Bucks showed a ton of fight in Game 5 when many had written them off. Their seven-man rotation still has a ton of talent and some exceptional defenders. Milwaukee obviously plays a much different brand of basketball without Giannis and Lillard but it’s one that clearly makes the Pacers uncomfortable. Indiana is at its best running the floor in high-scoring shootouts, and that’s precisely what this shorthanded Bucks roster is built to avoid.

In another elimination game, bettors can expect another do-or-die effort from Milwaukee, which means more tenacious defense. As long as the Pacers aren’t hitting at over 50% from beyond the arc like they did in Game 4, this one should be close throughout.
