Barnes Holds Betting Value in Points Prop
Coming off a buzzer beater against the Phoenix Suns, Harrison Barnes is one of the hottest players in the NBA right now. The former Warrior is averaging just shy of 27 points per game this season, grabbing 10 boards and shooting north of 50% from the perimeter.

This could be an early-season purple patch. There are signs that Barnes’ role has changed on this Kings team, though, with him taking almost double as many threes this season as he did last. Even when the percentages inevitably drop off, he’s got the shot quantity to be a more impactful scorer this season with 6.4 more field goal attempts per game and 1.7 extra free throws.
He’s gone over the 17.5 points total in the NBA player props comfortably in every game. The game-sealing three over the Suns took him to 22 last time out. Sacramento has an array of ball handlers now, and they are picking Barnes out in good spots. He’s taking advantage of kick outs from their guards for three-point shots.

The Kings are 11th in adjusted offensive shot quality this season, and while Barnes isn’t going to shoot 50% for the year from deep, we’ll take him to stay hot again here.
Sacramento is facing New Orleans’ subpar defense, which sits 26th in adjusted defensive shot quality on the year. If Barnes gets 15+ shots up again, he should make this comfortably.
- Pick: Harrison Barnes over 17.5 points (-112)
Lillard’s Struggles Continue
Damian Lillard’s points and assists line is set at 35.5 for Friday’s game with the Clippers. He’s not been above 31 points and assists in his first four games, and this Clippers defense is not going to make it easy.

Los Angeles ranks seventh in rate of opponent shots from beyond the arc. Their perimeter defense has excelled at stopping the long ball, and they are in the top four in rate of opponent shots at the rim. In adjusted defensive shot quality, the Clips also rank among the elite thus far.
Portland are only middle of the pack by offensive shot quality this season, a worrying trend given their reliance on an elite offense to carry the team. Lillard is isolating slightly less, though he’s at a career-low in the number of his made shots that are assisted.
How the All-NBA guards have fared so far:
S. Curry- 29ppg-6.3rpg-8.3apg
L. Doncic- 23.7ppg-11.3rpg-8.7apg- 21.7% from 3-4.7TOD. Lillard- 17.8ppg- 8apg- 33.3%fg-17.1% from 3
C. Paul- 12ppg-10.8apg-39.5%fg-30% from 3K. Irving-Inactive
B. Beal- 19.7ppg-33.3%fg- 16% from 3— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) October 28, 2021
It could just be a cold spell for the six-time All-Star. The Blazers are working through some stuff with Chauncey Billups’ offense, though, and that’s unlikely to fix itself against this Clippers defense.
Lillard will be back to his best soon, but we’re backing his struggles to continue on Friday.
- Pick: Damian Lillard under 35.5 points and assists (-108)
