Warriors End Season on 10-2 Run

Golden State was one of the hottest teams in the league to end the season, but still couldn’t manage to climb higher than 10th in the West during a 10-2 run from March 26 to April 14. With Steph Curry (26.4 PPG, 5.1 APG) resting during Sunday’s regular-season finale against Utah, Klay Thompson led Golden State to a 123-116 victory with 25 points.

The Warriors finished the regular season with a +2.4 Net Rating (ninth on offense at 116.9 and 15th on defense at 114.5).

Kings Falter Down the Stretch

After finishing third in the West last season, the Kings looked destined for another top-six finish most of this season, but an ugly stretch in the final six weeks dropped Sacramento all the way to ninth. The Kings are just 6-8 in their last 14 games, and 1-5 in their last six against top-ten teams in the West.

Riding a three-game losing streak into the final day of the season, Sacramento perhaps exorcised some frustration during a  121-82 throttling of Portland.

While the Warriors and Kings split their four-game season series, Sacramento won each of the last two by a single point: a 124-123 win on Nov. 28 and a 134-133 win on Jan. 25. Both of Golden State’s wins came in the first two weeks of the season.

The Kings finished the season with a +1.8 Net Rating (16th in the NBA), 116.2 in O-Rating (13th) and 114.4 in D-Rating (14th).
