  • Player props are available for the Play-In games on Wednesday, April, 12th
  • The nine and 10 seeds from both conferences are in action in win-or-go-home games
  • Read below for the Bulls vs Raptors player props plus Thunder vs Pelicans prop bets on Wednesday night

Wednesday brings us the second night of the NBA Play-In Tournament, with the Bulls, Raptors, Thunder and Pelicans all facing elimination. Toronto hosts Chicago, with the winner facing the Miami Heat for the eight seed on Friday night. The Oklahoma City Thunder are in New Orleans — the winner from that game takes on the depleted Minnesota Timberwolves.

These teams might not be at the forefront of NBA championship odds, but these games are huge for the respective teams. Two franchises will see their seasons end on Wednesday, potentially provoking significant offseason questions. The victors will be one game away from the first round of the 2022-23 NBA Playoffs.

NBA Play-In Games Prop #1: Jakob Poeltl Over 11.5 Points

Toronto fought hard down the stretch to hold off the Bulls for the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference. Their reward is homecourt advantage in this Play-In game, which contributes to the Raps being favored by five points.

The decision to bring in Jakob Poeltl at the trade deadline raised some eyebrows, but it has worked wonders for the Raptors. His chemistry with Fred VanVleet has given more structure to their offense. Toronto is far from a great pick-and-roll offense, but Poeltl’s threat as a play finisher has aided them in the halfcourt and will be important against a Bulls defense which ranks well below league average in points per possession allowed to the roll man.

As great as Chicago’s defense has been this season, Nikola Vucevic remains a weak point. Poeltl has scored 49 points across three games against the Bulls this season, passing this points line in all three.

Lower production at the end of the regular season has pushed Poeltl’s line down here. His minutes should be higher for this game, with his defensive prowess being very valuable. This line is definitely a bit low with how Poeltl has fared in this matchup so far in 2022-23.

Pick: Jakob Poeltl over 11.5 points (-102)

NBA Play-In Games Prop #2: Jonas Valanciunas 12+ Rebounds and 10+ Points

Finishing the season with two more wins than the Thunder and winning the season series 3-1, the Pelicans are 5.5-point favorites for Wednesday’s game. Zion Williamson remains out, but the Pels still have a considerable size advantage over the young Thunder. Jonas Valanciunas has a huge role to play as a result.

Oklahoma City has no true bigs. Only five teams have a worse rebounding rate on the season. New Orleans is the fifth-best rebounding team in the league, much of which can be attributed to the play of Valanciunas, who leads the league in rebounding rate. He is dominant on the glass at both ends, and could earn the Pels some easy points on the offensive boards.

The main risk to this prop is New Orleans being forced to match the Thunder by going small. Valanciunas has averaged just 22 minutes across the four contests in the regular season. His workload can fluctuate, and foul trouble is always a threat, but with the Thunder having the athleticism and defenders to trouble Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum, Valanciunas’ presence could be vital for the Pels.

The Thunder play at pace, generating a few extra possessions to land these overs. Valanciunas has had 32 games with 12 or more boards, and has hit double-digits scoring in 62 of his 78 outings.

Pick: Jonas Valanciunas 12+ rebounds and 10+ points (-106)
