The Cavs vs Pistons 2nd Round series resumes tonight in Detroit, with the teams deadlocked at two games a piece. Online sportsbooks are expecting Detroit to bounce back and hold serve on home court, pegging them as favorites in the NBA odds. Personally, I’m staying away from the spread and total markets altogether, choosing to focus on player props instead.

Cade Cunningham continues to be the primary offensive engine for the Pistons, however, he faces a daunting task against a formidable Cavaliers squad spearheaded by Donovan Mitchell. If Detroit is going to stay competitive in this series, they’ll need more secondary scoring. Tobias Harris is more than capable of filling that role, and while the Cavs focus on slowing down Cunningham, I’m expecting Harris to step up. While Cunningham rightfully garners the majority of Cleveland’s defensive attention, Harris has quietly been an absolute force. The current 18.5-point line noticeably undervalues his highly consistent secondary scoring production. He is peaking at the exact right time. Over his last five games, Harris is averaging 21.6 points on an efficient 49.4% shooting from the floor. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s defense has completely fallen off a cliff outside their home arena, allowing 109.8 points per game on the road this postseason. This presents a highly favorable environment for Harris to feast.

At the other end, Mitchell is the undisputed offensive catalyst for Cleveland, and his sheer volume from beyond the arc provides a clear betting edge. Even against a defensively sound Pistons squad, Mitchell’s massive workload makes this over a highly logical, actionable investment.
