The Golden State Warriors (19-20, 9-10 away, ATS) have fallen a game below .500 and out of the playoff picture entirely thanks to an ugly 1-4 stretch of basketball that includes road setbacks to the Pacers (108-96) and Raptors (104-101) in their last two games. Steph Curry and company will try to right the ship on Wednesday when they finish off their four-game road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves (21-18, 10-8 home, ATS) at the Target Center in Minneapolis at 8:40 pm CT/9:40 pm ET.

Wednesday’s tilt in Minneapolis is a matchup of teams trending in opposite directions. Not only has Golden State lost four of five, the Warriors are also an abysmal 7-17 since starting the season on a 12-3 tear. Monday’s loss in Toronto was the latest in a long line of underwhelming performances from Golden State. The 9-31 Raptors had lost five in a row and had just one win in their last 17 games, but the Dubs let an eight-point fourth-quarter lead slip away during the 104-101 loss.

Steph Curry (22.7 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 6.1 APG) had a game-high 26 in the loss on 9-of-17 shooting. The rest of the Warriors were borderline awful, shooting just 36.6% from the field.
The Timberwolves shook off a 127-125 loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday with a 120-106 rout over the Wizards. Anthony Edwards (25.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 4.2 APG) had a game-high 41 against Washington after scoring just 15 on 4-of-13 shooting in the loss to Memphis.
The Wolves have struggled with consistency all season but have now won four of five and seven of eleven, improving to eighth in the West in the process.

I have a hard time backing Minnesota as a favorite this season. They have been wildly inconsistent and are just 12-21 ATS as the betting chalk. So I’m not laying the full 5.5 points, but I am taking Minnesota to win, and send Golden State into an even bigger tailspin.
