The Auburn Tigers have quickly emerged as the feel-good story of this year’s NCAA Tournament. After knocking off college basketball powerhouses Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky, the No. 5-seeded Tigers move on their first-ever berth in the Final Four (April 6).

But heading into Saturday’s matchup with #1 Virginia, not all the storylines are focused on their on-court performance. Auburn’s play has been overshadowed at times by their head coach, Bruce Pearl.

Auburn’s long-time bench boss has captured the limelight with his emotive behavior on the sidelines at this year’s Big Dance, and has at times appeared to barely be able to keep himself from joining the play on the court.

Soaked in sweat as he guided the Tigers to their thrilling 77-71 overtime win over the Wildcats in the Elite Eight, Pearl caused a stir among fans on Twitter, who have embraced the 59-year-old and his unabashed sideline enthusiasm.

It got a little too hot under the collar for Pearl to keep his jacket on the whole time.

Warm Saturday Forecast in Minneapolis

While the city of Minneapolis is forecast to see its warmest weather of the spring on Saturday, coach Pearl is expected to still be keeping it professional at the conclusion of the game, with -700 odds that he will still be wearing his suit jacket or sports coat when the buzzer sounds.

However, a close contest with the Cavaliers, who make their first trip to the Final Four since 1984, could compel Pearl to lose the jacket prior to the end of the game, a circumstance that pays out at an attractive +475.

But don’t be surprised to see the two-time SEC champion struggle once again to contain his emotions following Saturday’s game, with attractive +275 odds of Pearl shedding a tear during a post-game interview with the media.
