The Heisman race continues to be one of the most fascinating storylines of the 2023 college football season, as Oregon quarterback Bo Nix is the new betting favorite following Week 11. Nix torched the USC defense on Saturday to vault him atop the Heisman odds.

Washington pivot Michael Penix Jr. slid to second in the odds despite winning against Utah, while Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. has entered the top-three favorites after going off against Michigan State.

Let’s look at the latest Heisman odds and analyze Bo Nix’s chances of winning.

Bo Nix Now Favored in Heisman Odds

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix is the new Heisman Trophy favorite at top North American sportsbooks following Week 11 of the 2023 college football season. After Nix went off against USC on Saturday, FanDuel & DraftKings both shortened Nix’s Heisman odds from +160 to around -150.

Nix completed 22 of 29 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-27 Oregon victory. The senior’s first two throws in the game were both 75+ yards TD passes, making him the first FBS player since 2012 to accomplish the unique feat.

On the season, Nix has thrown for 3,127 yards, 29 touchdowns and just two interceptions, while also rushing for five touchdowns. His completion percentage of 78.3% leads the nation.

Will Bo Nix Win The Heisman?

Bo Nix’s path to winning the Heisman Trophy isn’t too hard too difficult to figure out. He’s on a collision course with Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. to faceoff the Pac-12 Title game, and he’ll need to outduel the Washington pivot to win the trophy.

We strongly believe one of these two quarterbacks will win the trophy, as they both have eye-popping stats and a great story. OSU’s Marvin Harrison is making a late push, but the issue is he’s had multiple underwhelming showings in which he was held to under 35 yards on each occasion.

Nix’s consistency has been a key factor in his Heisman campaign, as he’s yet to have a poor statistical game. His “worst” game was 293 yards and 2 TD performance vs WSU. Nix has established himself as an elite QB this season and will win the Heisman if he leads the Ducks to the Pac-12 conference title.
