Georgia enters the CFP National Championship game as a massive 12.5-point favorite. While the total Georgia vs TCU sits at 62.5. Currently, bettors are torn on the outcome, as 53% of bets placed with the spread are on the Georgia Bulldogs at -12.5.

Georgia Betting Trends

The reigning, defending national champions hung on in the Peach Bowl by the skin of their teeth.

Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud lit up the uncharacteristically vulnerable Georgia secondary all night, and very nearly led his team to victory.

However, the onslaught of former walk-on Stetson Bennett proved to be too much. Somehow, the 5-foot-11 JUCO transfer has been unstoppable as the quarterback of the Georgia Bulldogs. The Heisman-trophy finalist is 28-3 as the Bulldogs starter. Additionally, Bennett finished the year in the top ten at his position in both yards (3,823) and completion percentage (68.2).

Moreover, Stetson has been unconscious during the CFP post-season throughout his career. As the above tweet illustrates Bennett has gone 4-1 while averaging 308 yards and 3 touchdowns per game.

Alarmingly, the stout Georgia defense has surrendered 71 points over their last two games, after giving up 72 in the previous six. Subsequently, the over is 4-1 in the Bulldogs last 5 games overall.

TCU Betting Trends

TCU (13-1) is one victory away from the most unlikely national championship in college football history. As one of the largest national championship underdogs in the College Football Playoff era, TCU will look to do the unthinkable on Monday night.

Listed as +20000 odds to win the national title prior to the season, Sonny Dykes’ Horned Frogs are the ultimate Cinderella.

That being said, the Horned Frogs possess one of the most explosive offenses in the sport. Led by quarterback Max Duggan, TCU is capable of scoring from anywhere, at anytime. Offensive coordinator Garrett Riley’s offense has created 21 plays of 50 yards of more this season.

Moreover, TCU has the ability to threaten Georgia with both the run and the pass. Although the Horned Frogs may be without star runner Keandre Miller, the TCU rushing attack can at least keep the Bulldogs honest. While future first-round NFL draft pick Quentin Johnston has the ability to win one-on-one matchups and hurt Georgia with big plays on the outside.

On top of that, TCU is 4-0 against the spread in their last 4 games played against non-conference competition.

Georgia vs TCU Prediction

TCU hopes to become the first team since Georgia Tech in 1990 to begin the season unranked in the preseason AP poll and go on to win the national championship.

Georgia is unquestionably the top team in college football. The Bulldogs won the bulk of the year with a strong defense, but have displayed the potential to win a shootout in the SEC Championship and CFP semifinal.

Make no mistake, TCU will have Georgia’s full attention in the CFP National Championship. Having said that, I think this game will be close late, and I like the TCU Horned Frogs to cover the spread in the CFP National Championship game.

Georgia vs TCU Pick: TCU +12.5 (-110)
