Daniels A Double Threat For Tigers

Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels can beat teams with his arm or his legs. In last week’s loss to Tennessee, the LSU quarterback passed for 300 yards. He also rushed for a team-leading 38 yards. Daniels is 11th in the SEC in rushing, churning up 359 yards on the ground.

Turnovers are hampering LSU. The Tigers have lost six fumbles this season. On the other hand, the defense has recovered eight fumbles. LSU’s defense is #29 in the NCAA (328.5 YPG).

Gators Rely on Ground Game, Discipline

Florida QB Anthony Richardson has thrown for 1124 yards. However, Richardson has been picked off seven times this season against five TD passes.

The rushing game is key for the Gators. Florida is 19th in the NCAA with 213.0 yards per game on the ground. The Gators have rushed for 16 TDs.

Defensively, Florida can’t stop the run (110th in the nation, 186 YPG) and is the SEC’s worst third-down defense and 125th in the nation at .506. The Gators have recovered six fumbles in six games. Florida is #11 in the nation in fewest penalty yards (206).

LSU vs Florida Prediction

A 40-13 drubbing handed them by the Tennessee Volunteers brought to an end LSU’s four-game winning streak. This will be Florida’s third successive home game in the Swamp.

Each team’s defense is opportunistic. Both the Tigers and Gators have scored two defensive TDs.

Playing on their home field, look for Florida to come up with that one extra big play to secure the victory. Take the Gators to cover the 2.5-point spread at the Swamp.

Pick: Florida Gators -2.5 (-110).
