The Heisman odds saw a major shakeup after last Saturday’s games. Former favorite Michael Penix Jr dropped to second in the odds after his Washington Huskies narrowly squeaked by Arizona State (15-7) as 28-point favorites. Michigan pivot JJ McCarthy, who led his team to a 49-0 shutout over in-state rival Michigan State, is the new frontrunner.

In search of its first national championship since 1997, Michigan (+229) also jumped ahead of Georgia (+268) in the National Championship odds.

Oregon State vs Arizona Odds & Early Prediction

One line that immediately jumps off the page is Arizona (4-3, 2-1 home, 6-1 ATS) laying 6.5 points to Oregon State (6-1, 2-1 away, 5-2 ATS) at home. The Wildcats have been a completely different team the past three weeks and freshman QB Noah Fifita looks like the real deal under center. After two narrow losses to Washington (31-24) and USC (43-41 OT) in Weeks 5 and 6 – both as double-digit underdogs – Arizona put everything together in Week 7 against then-No. 19 Washington State, demolishing the Cougars 44-6 on the road.

Fifita went 34-for-43 passing with 342 yards, while the ground game racked up 174 rushing yards and accounted for all five Wildcat touchdowns in the game. Perhaps most impressively, Arizona’s once-tragic defense limited the Cougars to just 35 rushing yards on 22 attempts, a miniscule 1.6 YPC average.

Oregon State is in the midst of its best season in years and already owns victories against Utah (21-7 home) and UCLA (36-24 away), but I am drinking the Kool-Aid on Arizona’s turnaround. This game is apt to be close throughout and getting the Arizona moneyline at north of +200 looks like solid value.

Pick: Arizona moneyline (+205)

Georgia vs Florida Odds & Early Pick

While they remain unbeaten straight-up, Georgia (7-0, 2-0 away, 1-5-1 ATS) has been one of the worst teams in the nation against the spread this year, covering just once as a 14.5-point home favorite over Kentucky (51-13). Florida (5-2, 4-0 home, 3-4 ATS) isn’t lighting the world on fire, but has looked much better at home this season than on the road. Their annual rivalry game with UGA will, as always, be held in Jacksonville. It never feels like a true home game for the Gators, but it won’t be akin to the hostile environments that UF face in Utah and Kentucky earlier in the year, either.

Ignoring the Vanderbilt game, Georgia has played just three Power 5 opponents this year (South Carolina, Auburn, Kentucky) and two of the three ended as one-score contests (24-20 over South Carolina, 27-20 over Auburn).  Both sides of the ball have taken a step back compared to last year’s national championship-winning squad and arch-rival Florida will give them a much stiffer test than they have the past two seasons (34-7 and 42-20 victories for UGA).

Georgia vs Florida Pick: Florida +17
