The Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers have opened as home favorites in next Sunday’s NFL Championship games.

The Chiefs are 2.5-point picks over the Buffalo Bills in AFC title game, which will be played at 3:05 pm ET. The Packers are 3.5-point choices over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC game, which has a scheduled kickoff of 6:40 pm ET.

The winners advance to Super Bowl 55 on February 7th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Chiefs Survive and Advance

The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are small favorites over the Bills after slipping past the Cleveland Browns 22-17 in a divisional-round game at home Sunday as 7.5-point favorites and losing quarterback Patrick Mahomes midway through the third quarter to a concussion.

The Chiefs (15-2) were able to advance behind veteran backup QB Chad Henne. With the Chiefs ahead by five points with two minutes to go, Henne had a 13-yard run on third-and-14 then connected with Tyreek Hill on a five-yard pass for a first down.

The Browns were out of timeouts and could not stop the clock.

Mahomes completed 21 of 30 passes for 255 yards. He threw for a touchdown and ran for another.

Harrison Butker added three field goals as the Chiefs built a 19-3 lead in the third quarter then held on.

The Bills (15-3) beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-3 on Saturday night as 2.5-point favorites.

Cornerback Taron Johnson had the big play when he intercepted Lamar Jackson and returned it 101 yards to put the Bills up 17-3 with 41 seconds left in the third quarter. That matched the longest interception return in NFL playoff history.

The Chiefs beat the Bills 26-17 on the road in the regular season in Week 6 as a 5.5-point favorite.

Rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the way that week with a career-high 161 rushing yards on 26 carries. Mahomes was efficient, going 21 of 26 for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

Bucs Pull Road Upset

Though 2.5-point underdogs, the Buccaneers advanced with a 30-20 victory over New Orleans on Sunday night after losing to the Saints twice during the regular season.

The Buccaneers turned four Saints turnovers, including three interceptions of Drew Brees, into touchdowns. Tom Brady scored the last TD on a 1-yard run after short scoring passes to Mike Evans and Leonard Fournette.

Brady was 18-of-33 passing for 199 yards and the two scores. He also had no interceptions after being picked five times by the Saints in the regular season.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Packers to a 32-18 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Rams on Saturday as seven-point favorites.

His 58-yard scoring pass to Allen Lazard for 6:52 remaining proved to be the winning score.

Rodgers completed 23 of 36 passes and rushed for a touchdown. Aaron Jones ran for 99 yards and a TD.

The Buccaneers and Packers also met in Week 6 and Tampa Bay rolled to a 38-10 victory at home as a three-point underdog.

Ronald Jones II rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. Brady played a supporting role as he connected on 17 of 27 passes for 166 yards and two TDs.

Will the Lines Move?

It is hard to quibble with the AFC line, which could obviously change if Mahomes was unable to play against the Bills.

However, the public loves Brady and it is easy to envision that line shrinking with early money likely going on the Buccaneers.
