Even nailing the first TD score (thanks, Travis Kelce!) wasn’t enough to stay above water in Week 4, and we’re straddling mighty close to even for our overall winnings on the year.

Perhaps an an AFC North showdown can lift us up Sunday night, as the Cincinnati Bengals visit the Baltimore Ravens.

After starting out 0-2, the Bengals have found their way back to .500 and in the division title race, currently in a three-way tie with Cleveland Browns and these Ravens.

Baltimore could easily be 4-0, but two devastating losses exposing a swiss-cheese defense is forcing Lamar Jackson to play superman, mistake-free ball to cover up those deficiencies.

With that in mind, let’s go over this game’s NFL player props and share a few of our favorite picks.

Odds as of October 9 at DraftKings Sportsbook

In the odds above, both Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are favored to throw for better than two touchdowns.

The highest rushing total goes to Joe Mixon at 60.5 yards, and the highest receiving total is given to Cincy’s’ Ja’Marr Chase at 70.5 yards.

Prop #1: Joe Burrow Pass Yards and Lamar Jackson Rush Yards

Baltimore’s pass defense is the worst in the NFL.

They’ve surrendered 315.3 yards per game, and have allowed non-explosive pivots to put up career numbers. A washed-up Joe Flacco and game-managed Mac Jones have both thrown for 300+, while Tua Tagovailoa put up a career and historic 460 yards.

Thank the heavens for the rain in Week 4, as that’s the only thing that kept Josh Allen under 300.

Enter Joe Burrow, who is an elite QB in the NFL by any standard. With clear skies and 65-degree weather, he should be able to spin it with ease.

He’s gone over this passing mark in three of four games this year, but absolutely lit the Ravens on fire in their two meetings in 2021, throwing for over 400 in each.

As for Jackson, he’s so good at running the ball that we kind of take his gaudy numbers for granted. Like last week against the Bills, he rushed 11 times for 73 yards, and it was a ho-hum performance, after cracking 100+ the previous two weeks.

Jackson’s dual-threat ability is the reason he’s currently third in the 2023 NFL MVP odds. While the Bengals’ run D is fourth-best in yards allowed and surrendering just 3.8 yards per pop, don’t let that deter you from this pick.

He’s passed this total four times in six regular-season meetings against Cincy in his career.

Pick:

  • Joe Burrow OVER 274.5 pass yards (-120); 1 unit to win 0.83 units
  • Lamar Jackson OVER 58.5 rush yards (-120); 1 unit to win 0.83 units

Prop #2: Tee Higgins Receiving Yards

Quietly working outside the scope of mega

star Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins has been operating like a top wideout in a no. 2 role.

After getting knocked out of the season opener with a concussion, he’s hauled in at least five balls and has crossed this receiving yards total in three straight games.

There’s another way to go at this too: his longest reception total (18.5) is a full seven yards more than Chase’s number. Higgins has also passed that number in each of his last three games, and went for 18 as a high before getting hurt in the opener.

With Baltimore’s defense in all sorts of mess, either of these are a solid wager.

Pick:

  • Higgins Longest Reception OVER 18.5 yards (-110); 1 unit to win 0.91 units

Bengals vs Ravens Touchdown Scorer Odds

As always, thanks to our good friends at DraftKings were scooping up the latest scoring stats.

JK Dobbins has scored at least one touchdown in each of his last five home appearances. Mark Andrews, who was shut out in last week’s loss to Buffalo, had found the endzone three times in his prior two contests.

He had a biggie last meeting between these team, hauling in eight balls for 125 yards and a score.

For the visitors, Tyler Boyd has found paydirt in five of his last six regular season games vs AFC foes, while Mixon has tallied at least one TD in two straight games against Baltimore. When in doubt grab that best value.

Pick:

  • Boyd ANYTIME TD scorer (+290); 1 unit to win 2.9 units
  • SNF Week 4 player prop bet record: 2-3; Overall: 9-8, +0.145 units
