It’s a battle of division leaders to close out the Sunday Week 9 NFL slate. The AFC South-leading Titans (5-2, 3-1 away) put their five-game winning streak on the line versus the AFC West-leading Chiefs (5-2, 2-1 home) on Sunday Night Football.

KC enters this game fresh off its bye week and should be healthy and well-rested. Tennessee, on the other hand, still hasn’t revealed its starting quarterback as Ryan Tannehill tries to work his way back from an ankle injury that sidelined him last week.

Tannehill’s injury is the main talking point in the Titans vs Chiefs injury report, but without definitive word on his status, it’s difficult to properly evaluate the Titans skill position players.

As a result, we’re going KC-centric in our Titans vs Chiefs same-game parlay, starting with arguably the NFL’s best player in Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes Over 279.5 Passing Yards

The Titans defense ranks inside the top-10 per DVOA, but is being propped up by playing some pretty weak competition. Tennessee hasn’t beaten a single team with a winning record during their streak, and Derek Carr is the best quarterback they’ve faced.

Despite that, they still rank 15th per DVOA against the pass. Mahomes on the other hand, leads the NFL in TD passes, and ranks third in QBR and fourth in passing yards. He’s thrown for t least 292 yards in three straight games, and has roasted the Titans for at least 290 yards and three scores in two of their past three meetings.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Over 49.5 Receiving Yards

When Mahomes does go to the air of course Travis Kelce will be his main target, but don’t sleep on JuJu Smith-Schuster tonight. JuJu ranks second on the team in targets, receptions and receiving yards, and has found his groove with Mahomes over the past two weeks.

Smith-Schuster is fresh off back-to-back 100+ receiving yard games, with a score in each outing. During that stretch Mahomes has a perfect 158.3 passer rating when targeting JuJu, after recording just a 61.2 passer rating in their previous five games together.

As for the matchup, Tennessee has been very kind to opposing wide receivers. Only three teams in the entire NFL surrender more production to enemy wideouts than the Titans.

Kansas City Chiefs Over 27.5 Points

KC enters play ranked first in points per game and second in total offense. They grade out first on offense per DVOA, and have scored at least 30 points in four of five victories.

They’re a 13.5-point favorite and are drawing the majority of the spread money in the Titans vs Chiefs public betting splits, even at such a lofty number.

As mentioned off he top, KC is off a bye and it’s impossible to ignore Andy Reid’s success after a week of rest. Reid’s teams are 20-3 following a bye, including 12-1 at home and 4-0 in the Mahomes era. They’ve scored at least 35 points in three of those four games that Mahomes has been under center for, and we should expect another big total versus an overrated Tennessee team tonight.
